    The IFI have made a digitised copy of original British Pathe newsreels from the 1916 – 1922 period.

    I just watched a few random clips and it does bring that time period vividly to life.

    There is detail one wouldn’t expect, like the unit soldiers who were wearing white uniforms (not unlike chef outfits) spending an age untangling a big ball of barbered wire with pliers.
