Hi All, I have a query regarding becoming an Environmental Clerks of Works for the construction stage of a project.

Could anybody tell me what the route is to becoming and ECoW? I have experience in construction of roadways in cut over bog areas particularly with regards to water sampling, siltation measures such as sediment ponds, silt fencing, attenuation dams, 100 year flood events and silt measure sizing. Other experience include 10 years of EIAR assisting. Development of Environmental Management Plans for submitting to County Councils and the overseeing of such plans in construction. Not that my only formal training is a NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management.

Any advice would be very helpful. From what I have seen there is an Auditing ECoW role (which I would engage and environmental consultant) and an assessor (which is the role I am interested in, i.e the day to day management of a site, incl toolbox talks, organising training to construction personnel on site etc.)

    Thank you for reading, Claud
