Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Met Short Range Satellite not on phone

    The one thing I truly respected about the met was the satellite image of the short range forecast.

    One could tell - to within half an hour accuracy - AT A GLANCE - where the rain WOULD fall that day.

    Just checked my phone and I get a series of smiley face generic gibberish .

    Sure, placate the plebs with meaningless emoticon-like images, but PLEASE

    DO NOT TAKE AWAY THE SATELLITE IMAGES!!!

    Thankfully, there still available on the laptop, but the phone thingy might be the beginning of the end of a beautiful, simple, accurate, daily weather info.

    They're still available on your phone of you do the same thing you do on your laptop.

    No where near as useful as the original. And please don't say it's my inability to read satellites.

    Do you mean the sat images or the short range forecasts? Not sure what you are referring to?

    On the homepage on mobile you can select rainfall forecast instead of rainfall radar, it isn't obvious that you can change that but you can.

    Tried that - not too bad at all!.


    The forecast radar is very good, but could be a/ manual option, as it does seem to jump along pretty quickly, before i can make out landfall for the rain.

    But yeah - that's the one.
