Looking forward to today's game, first game I've been able to get to in too long.

Looks a cold crisp evening for it, happy days.

On the injury front, Dave Kilcoyne sustained a calf injury in training last week and will undergo rehabilitation with the medical department.

JJ Hanrahan was removed from the weekend’s game with a suspected hamstring injury and will undergo a scan this evening to determine the extent of the injury.

Chris Cloete failed a HIA during the Ulster clash and will undergo the graded return to play protocols under the supervision of the medical department.

Alex Wootton and Craig Casey have returned to team training.

Continuing to rehab: Rhys Marshall (knee), Darren Sweetnam (hamstring), Joey Carbery (ankle), Ciaran Parker (calf).

Fair play for putting the work in for that!

Impressed by Haley this season, a lot more consistent. Good counter-attacker and he's very good in the air too (which you expect of a fullback anyway)

Per Cian Tracey, Kilcoyne is out for a few weeks. Cloete is unavailable. JJ's scan showed no serious damage.

Looking doubtful JJ will be right for Saturday then. https://mobile.twitter.com/Murray_Kinsella/status/1194600952143241216

I think he was always going to be doubtful for Saturday, here's hoping he's available for next week. As expected Healy is added to the Cup Squad.

Tyler was always going to be favourite to start at 10 if JJ didn't make it. Healy doesn't make any difference to that and he won't even make the 23 for the Ospreys game.
Healy is more an indication of how far away from returning Carbery actually is and that one or two more injuries at out half and inside centre and Munster are in real trouble.

If Joey is that far away, why did Healy not replace him under the 5 players you are allowed to rotate due to the world cup?

This weekend aside, it's a tough enough run of fixtures coming up:

    Ospreys (a) - CC
    Racing (h) - CC
    Edinburgh (h) - Pro14
    Saracens (h) - CC
    Saracens (a) - CC
    Connacht (a) - Pro14
    Leinster (h) - Pro14
    Ulster (a) - Pro14
    Racing (a) - CC

A lot will depend on how strong a team Saracens decide to field. We'll have a fair idea of that come this weekend, at least.

We then have a run of games during the 6 Nations (including back to back home and away versus Benetton, weirdly) where I'd like to see the likes of Craig Casey get some starts.

Who covers 10 from the bench? It has to be Tyler starting, there's nobody else if Carbery and JJ are injured.

Think there’s a slight overreaction to Jj’s injury, Van Graan said he’s not out of this weekend and should be back for Racing. We’ll be grand with him and Tyler + the likes of Healy and Scannell who’re more than capable

If it's not Healy, Scannell will cover 10 even if he starts, so we may not have a dedicated 10 on the bench.

We've been going with a 6/2 split of late as well, so it possibly makes it even less likely Healy will get on the bench.

I think Saracens will field strongest team possible. Any talk otherwise is guff. They won it last year, might be best shot to qualify for CC next season.

I can't remember if I read it here or elsewhere but apparently the English internationals' club appearances are restricted this year in a deal between PRL and the RFU.

So if you're Saracens and you can only use your English internationals for certain games, you would have to use them in the Premiership.

McCall mentioned Billy V was limited to 30 games and hes played 10 already. Add 5 6Ns games and a couple of June games and that's reduced to 13 games for Saracens. To win the HEC would require another 7 or so games, meaning he'd only be available for several of the 18 remaining league games.

They might still be able to avoid relegation if they went that route. They need at least 55 points from 18 games. Let's say 60 to be safe. With internationals available for about half their remaining games. That's basically 12-15 wins. It would be tight, but doable. Whether they want to risk it is another story.

Those changes have to be done by today. They want Carbery in the squad for rounds 5 & 6 and if by any miracle he got back for game 3 or 4. Mathewson will be one change after the deadline with Casey replacing him most likely. Munster didn't want to take Carbery out in case they couldnt put him back in due to other injuries.

The point if the world cup rotation players is they can be changed any time up to the knock out stage.

3.6 The registration of incoming Swap Players can be reversed before the deadline of midday (GMT) on Thursday 26 March 2020. Each player can only replace the player who was initially nominated as his Swap Player.

That's for the knock out stages. We want Carbery available for the pool games. During the pool phases you can only change 5 players. 3 must be front row and only one can be a non injured player.

    You need to read this.

3.5 To provide flexibility for clubs in light of Rugby World Cup 2019 and to cater for the possibility of long-term injuries sustained by players after the First Registration deadline but before Round 1, clubs may register up to five Swap Players on or before Wednesday 13 November 2019 to replace players previously registered by the club.
