Works in the kidney. Not produced there. Or have I lost the plot?

produced in the brain gland thing (pituatary afair) so adh is NOT produced there.
One could argue that it gives ADH a reason to live, and that is a function...

    Also
    1) makes pee
    2)filters water.....
    3) regulates blood pH
    4) Regulation of electrolytes

I was gonna add hydroxylates vitamin D, but that's already been put in there in the form of creating calcitriol (active vit D). I have no original thoughts :(

Though maybe we could break down regulation into the various electrolytes it does regulate, coz the blanket manages electrolytes followed by specific examples is cheating in some regard :) (shoudl prolly do that w/ the various proteins the liver makes too...)

    16) Removes toxic waste products/metabolites from the blood
    17) Responds to elevated BP via the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone axis to decrease or to increase BP
    18) Not only produces urine, but also concentrates urine
    19) Provides a measure of renal function via creatinine clearance
    20) Responds to anemia
    21) Regulates RBC production

Cheeeating. responds to anaemia BY up regulating RC production!

hmmmmmmmm, now i'm tempted to fiddle the list even more. Ive noticed that EPO is flavour of the week with 5) production of erythopoeitin, 12) Creates Erythropoietin to control a body’s volume of blood, 20) Responds to anemia, 21) Regulates RBC production

I propose to merge all these into "Manufactures EPO (which upregulates production of rbc's and thereby attempts to correct anaemia)" [I also propose that blood volume regulation isnt epo's fault/doing but the water regulators (renin/angiotensin/aldosterone path and anti-diuretic hormone, etc.)]

provides redundancy for the other one
    lowers your centre of gravity
    formation of kidney stones
    excretion of urea

    lowers your centre of gravity
    <3

on the otherhand, kidney stones arent formed directly by the kidney. They occur as minerals precipitate out of the concentrated urine (either because of a change of conditions such as pH, or having a ridiculously high amount of the mineral). And im not sure "making bad things that make me cry" is a function so much as a dysfunction...
