    In case you were wondering.....

It's basically for the education side of health sciences and the health professions.

    So, it's for stuff like

    A) Getting into uni to study medicine, nursing, physio, radiography, pharmacy, OT etc. That incorporates questions about HPAT, UKCAT, GAMSAT etc.

    B) The uni courses themselves. Exams, uni issues etc. Questions about postgrad health sciences courses. It also means, people can discuss the minutiae of RCSI or TCD 2nd year exams with each other in detail, with relative anonymity if they want.

    C) Postgraduating training and exams...so the pharmacy exams at the end of pre-reg, the nursing postgrad exams, the medical postgrad exams (MRCPI, MRCSI etc).

Basically anything about educating or being educated in health sciences.

It's obviously going to be a quiet enough forum initially, until the HPAT and GAMSAT season kicks off again.

But we'd really like to encourage people doing postgrad exams, especially the medical exams, as everyone in the game has to sit at least one set of these exams at some stage.

BUt, essentially, we'll let the users dictate the direction of the forum.

There's probably no need anymore to keep all GAMSAT and all HPAT tposts in one thread any more. But we'll make a thread initially for HPAT/UKCAT 2010 (which will be quiet initially) and one for GAMSAT, which we'll unsticky every 6 months or so.

BUt feel free to start your own threads on any of these topics if you like. Just bear in mind there will be a lot of duplication.

IN a few weeks I'll start another general feedback thread on the main bio+med forum to see how it's all going, and to take suggestoins for what we might improve.

Welcome to the Health Sciences Education Forum – this is the preamble that all charters need although Tallaght01 has summed up the ethos very well – these are the standard groundrules all forums have.

    First and foremost.......

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ADVICE BOARD.

No medical advice will be given here, so please don't ask for any.
If you want medical advice go to your GP.

And as usual – standard Boards rules apply.

    1) No Muppettry, Trolling, Abuse or Racism. We can all express opinions with out resorting to any of them.

    2) No Flaming. You can disagree with and debate people without flaming.

    3) No advertising. Contact the admins if you want to arrange advertising space.

As this is a sciencific and education board we greatly welcome health sciences education discussion over other topics.
