Cliff diving spots around Ireland...

Hey all, I hoping some of you can share some of your best kept secrets! Really got into cliff diving and think it's great craic but wouldn't know of many places to do it.

I'll start off...

Cork - about a 40 foot drop (Google Maps) 51.642844,-8.636971

Directions from Kinsale
1.Head southeast on Pearse St toward Emmet St

2.Take the 1st right onto Emmet St

3.Take the 2nd left onto Pier Rd

4.Turn left at Lower O'Connell St

5.Continue onto Pier Rd

6.Continue onto The Worlds End

7.The Worlds End turns slightly left and becomes Archdeacon T.F. Duggan Bridge/R600 Continue to follow R600

8.Turn left to stay on R600

9.Turn left at Ballycatten Terrace

10.Take the 1st right onto Ballycatten Terrace/R600 Continue to follow R600

11.Take the 1st left

12.Turn left

13.Take the 1st left

14.Take the 1st right Destination will be on the right

When you see this building you're at the right place. You need to walk around it, follow the mini cliff there in the pic, cross a field and you'll know the area once you get there.

bundoran co. donegal. i cnt give directions bt i went there with donegal adventure centre. look it up. its awesome

Old Head in Mayo, near Louisbourgh and Westport has some really good cliffs!

Theres a load of pretty big jumps there then there is one HUGE one, 60ft i believe! Very dangerous, i've heard lots of story of people hurting themselves on that one! Just read some of the comments! But its still worth a trip down if ur not up for the 60 footer, as the other smaller cliffs are really good craic!!:D

Below the B on that map you can see a very small inlet its opposite where it says west town. You have to climb up a hill and across a cliff to get to it.. The hill is to the right there.

If you look at the B You can see a big dirt car parking area to the right. Follow that through the skinny part in the road then walk down onto the cliff the jump point is between the two rocks that are in the water.

If you actually plan on coming down to try these give me a shout and ill show you how to get there. I wouldnt doing them trying them again.. Maybe not the 1st but deffo the 2nd

My personal favourite is down in Doolin Co. Clare,

The jump is over a sea cliff and is lovely and deep (jumpable in all tides). and is around 8-10m, there's also a few lower jumps around for messing around on.

Its just past Doolin before the Cliffs of Moher become more steep, follow a dirt track for couple 100m then walk along the coast for bit, can't miss it:

I have one here in Louth of clogherhead, not mad high but its were you land that can put people off. Ill get some pics for you.

This may not be quite cliff jumping in Ireland..... but should appeal to any of you interested in throwing yourselves of cliffs

although that said non of them are over the 10m mark, but does make it interesting when you've got a very narrow spot to land!

Ah no need for that! I think there is (should be) a certain amount of cop-on of anyone reading this thread and thinking of doing any of the jumps.... If you aren't going to clear what your jumping.... don't jump.... and especially don't jump head first.....

Theres a sea stack in nohoval cove in Cork which you can swim out to and jump off. I'm not sure how high it is, but I would guess its 30ft or so.

I looked up Google Maps satellite and view and can't quite figure out which rock that is, but it's probably roughly below the car park at the beginning of the lower cliff path i.e. start at village and carry on along coast East.

There's also a great jumping spot on the other side of Howth, very close to where a cottage sits on a cliff edge looking out towards the Bailey Lighthouse (i.e. on the south side of Howth). The way down to it involves going down a steep face hanging onto a rope. Good fun jumping there, but not massively high. Needs high tide for jumping and worth scouting it out at low tide to realise how far the rocks come out under water.

Take care out there everyone, there was a guy killed some years ago at the Forty Foot by hitting the rocks head first without realising the lie of the land before he jumped in. So be careful and swim it before you jump it so you can look underwater.

How high d'ye reckon it is?

Heard to tell from the video's but reckon one could be in the region of 10-12m. Some of the youtube videos seem to show a shorter 3m or so jump as well so I assume there are a few different heights to jump from.
