If you invest that in your pension it becomes 10k and your retirement will be better because you're healthier.

Smoking is one of the worst ideas imaginable

I'm 13 months off the cigs. Still vaping though. Started on 18mg. Down to 6mg of nicotine. Gonna try 0mg next week.

I smoked 6.5K a year roughly. The vape costs me 650 a year for kit and juice. I've blown the savings on good times for the missus and daughter over the last year. They so deserve it and more! Now I might start looking at using it in a different way. That said the health implications are very noticeable too. Quitting cigs is life changing in so many ways. Really hoping I can manage on 0mg juice and kick the vape kit altogether. Booze kick to follow.

It's great and you'll do it! I didn't vape as they made my throat sore - worked in my favour in the end. I've just knocked the wine on the head now for a while (to lose the weight I gained) feel better again. Had a tough few years with the hubby very sick so I feel I need to be healthier now, for him and for me. Giving up smoking was the best thing I've done in years.

Wha?

ETA: There was spam content above (looks like someone can't sleep either - but it's been removed and now my "wha?" looks silly

€13/€13.50 a pack now.

On a 6ml juice after 16 months off the ciggies. But I often crave them. Still a daily battle especially when under pressure in work/personal life. Never crave one when having a beer though.

Coming up on my two year anniversary smoke free - I smoke in my dreams and the cravings are almost gone - 13.50 I know it's mad - so glad they're gone!

I'm smoke free since May 2003.

Occasionally I still have the odd dream where I'm smoking! Usually wake up in a panic til the realisation that it was just a dream sinks in.

1 year since I last had a cigarette.

Don't like the term quitting, as its a negative term, and I did something positive.

Anyway, one of the main things that bothered me when I used to smoke, was I couldn't have a drink at home, as I'd associate drinking with smoking, and my wife hated me smoking.

Tonight, I'm sitting in, watching the golf, just finished a beer, and cracked open a bottle of red. No fear that I might want to have a cigarette

Fist of all Spurious I just want to say, very well done for giving them up. and for staying off them for 16 years.. I smoked since I was 13 and now I'm 23. I hope someday I can say I've been off them for 16 year...
1 year after I posted this I quit! So funny how things work out! It’s bittersweet!

It's great though isn't it? Doing things that used to involve smoking without the need for them is quite liberating.
I'm about 1.5 years off them (I vaped for the final 7, smoked for 26 years). I'd a super easy ride with it so I've basically no good memories of smoking/vaping. I used to have little reminders but now it's like I never smoked. It still amazes me how easy it was for me.
