Implant Dentist Recommendation

Hi there,

Thread title says it all really. I'm looking for a recommendation for a dentist specialising in implant dentistry in Dublin 2. I have a premolar which has had two root canals and the second one is in the process of failing so I would like it removed and replaced with an implant. Any info regarding total costs incurred would be appreciated also.

I'm in a similar boat to the OP, expecting to need an implant within the next few months. Open to travel anywhere Dublin/Meath really.

One thing I'm curious about - I've spotted massive variations in pricing in Ireland, without even considering abroad options (I'm sure many of the dentists abroad are great, but I'd be very fearful of the lack of support if something went wrong). I can understand some variability, based on material branding and dentist experience etc, but I've come across pricing from €1250 to over three times that for an implant, abutement and crown.

In the same boat and ideally around the same area (Dublin 2) it's the pre molars that are the issue. Any PM would be great.

I am in the same boat, need an implant also. Can someone recommend a good dentist in Dublin and idea of likely cost. I am thinking about going abroad as it seems so expensive here. Please pm me . Thanks for your help

I'm in the same boat too. A premolar is giving me problems. It fractured last year and it was saved with a filling. The tooth cracked on me. It's not a big crack but I feel a sharp edge. It's more annoying if anything. I have an appointment at the dentist for tomorrow and I'm dreading it. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. Hopefully the dentist will be able to save it, maybe with a filling, I don't know. I will see how tomorrow goes and will take it from there. I think I might need to look into getting an implant.

I was checking on prices online. A dentist local to be has a price online for 1700 euro. I suppose to some degree, it's ok money because I saw other prices for over 2000. I don't have 1500 lying about nevermind 1700 or more and I don't have health insurance.

I was looking at <snip> website online. They have a clinic in Dublin and Limerick. I like how they have a payment option. Has anybody used 3dental before? Or any other recommendations?

Based in cherrywood, Dublin just off M50. Have used them for braces, fillings, root canals, crowns and whitening. Can't fault them.

All young dentists, who specialise in a particular area, for example one doctor will just do root canals. I'm getting 2 crowns finished off at the min, being done by a cosmetic dentist, she is very thorough, perfectionist. I am very happy with the results so far.

Prices are upfront, and very competitive, they give you a dental plan at the start and you only pay for what you get done. They also do payment plans.

Front of desk staff very nice. Sort out appointments that suit you and help with MED 2 forms where required.

Only fault I have is it a bit of a pain to get to during rush hour as I am on Northside. Worth it though for the savings and quality of service

I've a canine implant all in it was about 3 grand it's done in two stages a sergon put in a titanium post and a prostodentist did the crown very happy with it got it done in a clinic in Booterstown.

You get what you pay for it took 4 visits over six months. I don't understand how clinics in Asia or Eastern Europe can do it in two weeks.

If at all possible I'd look at getting a pro root canal and crown to save the orgional tooth. I just had one done in Renelagh and it cost 750 for the root canal going back in six months for the crown should be 800 ish.

If you have to go to the credit union and borrow. Never let a general dentist do a root canal it's complicated fiffly work and badly you will be in aganony and paring to have it fi, ed

I recently got the implant part placed using dental implants ireland in Dundrum, €1249 and can claim 205 back on med2 and 10% discount if you pay up front. They do free consult and will need a opg scan/ct scan for €150 to determine suitability.

due back tomorrow for stitch removal and then in 3 months for the check up to confirm implant is doing ok.. total time from start to finish will be about 6 months with all appointment costs covered in the price

Apologies ment to reply sooner, I had a 3month checkup on the implant last Friday and the implant seems to be bonding well so they are going to put the healing cap on at the end of August.

Everything has been going great with them so far anyway, i've had to reschedule things a few times due to work etc and there was never an issue.

AHHH I see where I went wrong, I took your recommendation and ended up at Dundrum Dental, was surprised that a dentist within a lovely building in a lovely village could offer such good rate... they couldnt!

So Dundrum dental clinic is not dental implants Ireland.

From my pricing them around 3k for the implant, abutment and crown is still very very good, I was generally getting 4-5k for total package.

Dental Implants Ireland also provide their general dentistry service under the name Happy Dental.

I just got a quote of 4,500 per implant. Just remember the implant cost does not include initial consultation, x-ray, CT Scan if needed, endodontic exam, periodontal exam, possible extraction if there is anything remaining below the surface, and if you have any gum issues, you'll have to have that addressed first, which will be a hygienist.

I've been trying to explore going abroad, and have been looking at Kreativ dental and Helvetic Dental in Budapest, Sofia Implant Center in Bulgaria. For all the people who seem to have travelled, I cannot find any who can tell first hand of their experience.

Have a serious think about how vulnerable if things go wrong in another country. We have first hand experience of Kreativ. The warranty means nothing, just a pile of excuses when over €10,000 of work goes terribly wrong.

have used metal dentures for 30 years and the one I have now is probably in need of replacement

does anyone know if it is possible to have implants fitted so long after teeth have been removed?

I would need to have incisors x 2 replaced

My own single implant was done by Dr< snip> (Basque guy-American father) found him excellent, and he has a relaxed manner. The particular tooth was small and tricky. He currently works in <snip> at Red Cow

Hi there...for <snip>they quote €1,540 per implant(which includes crown)...I understand there is a €50 charge for a scan, what is the total cost including all the appointments from start to final appointment (including sutures removal, all scan costs,implant exposure, impression of implant areas etc.).

so far have had consultation €50 + €150 for CT scan to check bone density as will need to replace teeth lost 30 years ago

To me this seems like a long time between drinks but dentist says it does not matter...it's all to do with how much bone is left to securely hold the implants as there has been shrinkage over time which is normal

anyone any experience of a long stretch of time between losing teeth and having successful implants?

rough cost around 3.5k I think all in
