Brady, Lawless and Sugrue were starting on last year's Under 20's and not this despite being more experienced.

Lyons, Keane, Larkin, Lennon, Frost could be starting considering they have a junior club player picked to start.

Obviously Heneghan is big loss after he went to seniors (then got injured) and Shane Cunnanes injury is massive blow given his class.

If that U20 league is anything to go by this campaign will be short. Pity because with a full squad really firing Roscommon could have gone far given the success of their 2017 u17 side.
Cannot understand Curran getting the gig

A surprise to see such a lack of St Brigids starters. They won the last two Connacht club minor titles and only 2 of the Roscommon U17 All Ireland finalist team of 2017 is starting this match.
Is Dylan Sumner injured?

And given the gig for a 2nd year. It would be like Mayo having David Brady as manager of the U20s.

He got to a connaght final last year which was a great achievement beating a highly fancied Galway side was 100% entitled to a second year.
Emmet Durney over the u17s is worse Clann wouldnt let him near a junior B side up there.
Dylan sumner is gone on feckin Holidays

One swallow doesn't make a summer. Games in between lucky to beat Sligo and well beaten by Mayo in the final. Roscommon U17s win v Galway this year was probably as good if not better than that U20 win last year. Dates of these championship matches are well known in advance and a player taking a holiday during the championship opener just highlights how poorly organized this group of U20s are off the field.

U20s beaten by Galway
Don't Tyrone have to beat Cavan first?

It's interesting that Mayo were extremely poor at minor level in 16 and 17 shipping huge defeats to Roscommon and Galway in minor league and championship yet look strongest side in Connacht at under 20 in 2018-19.

Not sure what they are doing in the two years to prepare these players but it's certainly working.
