Well as already stated you get the two weeks at Christmas and on top of that:
Few days at midterm in February,
    Two weeks at Easter,
    Three months in the summer,
    Midterm in October.
    Any Holy days,
    + bank holidays.

Are you paid for that time?

Are you paid for that time?

No but you do get time and a half for Sundays and Bank Holidays...

The others just aren't hard enough.

The others aren't hard enough but you're afraid of hot and cold weather? You wouldn't last 1 week of training, go back to playing call of duty.

Yes but with La Legion you have the mystique and history.

By the standards of some BAF the FFL is quite young 1831 I think some of the British regiments date back to the 1600s. As for mystique, what mysterious about them? They are a foreign based unit that see a lot of action by virtue of being attached to the french rapid reaction force. You can certainly find other units that are similar in regards to the latter two aspects.

Well it's best to have every edge to make the best of my training there.

You seem more interested in the time off the job than time on.
It's not for the lols, you put your life into it or don't bother.

You know there are other options open to you that sound like they might suit better? Info here.

You probably won't even have to learn French.

Your quite right, I just committed a cardinal sin against myself and read back every post. I feel used without even a reach around at this point. I desperately hope this is troll work. At least then it would be mildly amusing.

I hear if you hike to the summit of Carrauntoohil at a certain time and date the Ranger Wing let you join direct :p

    “Walter Mitty” territory? Hardly.

The OP is not a fantasist or a dreamer as the title “Walter Mitty” suggests. He’s on a wind up guys. Blatantly obvious.

That sounds quite uncomfortable, but you know... if you want it badly enough.

The OP lacks the wit and subtlety of a WUM.

Nay to that I say. The fact that he has gotten so many mostly genuine replies would indicate to me that he is indeed WUMming.
