UK Weather Forecast: Weather for the week ahead 10/10/21

Headline: Fine and dry for many. Showery in far north.

Today: Low cloud and isolated drizzle clearing southeastwards across England and Wales. Otherwise, fog patches clearing to leave a dry day with sunny spells, and still feeling warm in the south. Windy and showery across northern Scotland.

Tonight: Remaining breezy and showery across northern Scotland with more persistent rain in the far northwest later. Dry elsewhere with mostly clear skies, and turning chilly for many.

Monday: Cloudy in the north with rain or showers, mainly across Scotland. Dry in the south with plenty of sunshine.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Most places dry with variable cloud, some sunshine and perhaps overnight mist and fog patches. Cloudier in the north and, perhaps the east on Tuesday, with light rain at times.

This Evening and Tonight: Rain clearing the north-east, then clear spells and isolated showers, although showers soon becoming more frequent in the far south-west. Band of showers, some heavy, with gusty winds then affecting western areas of England, Wales and south-west Scotland overnight.

Saturday: Rain, some heavy, continuing north and east, not clearing the far north-east until evening. Sunny spells and isolated showers following.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Changeable with showers, longer spells of rain, and some limited sunny/clear spells in-between. Often windy, with gales around southern and western coasts at times. Temperatures a little below average.

Wednesday 3 Nov to Friday 12 Nov: An unsettled and changeable start to this period with typically autumnal conditions dominating the weather. Wettest conditions expected in the northwest with bands of heavy rain and showers which later briefly give way to drier interludes. There is a risk of this rain being impactful, however it will most likely be less so than of late. Driest conditions most likely in the south east where any bands of rain will be weaker than those seen elsewhere. Occasionally windy throughout with the strongest winds expected in the northwest. Temperatures are set to be around average overall with some milder interludes likely as weather moves in from the Atlantic. Some brief colder spells are still possible, especially in the south.
