I've always wondered about the everdrive, can it play 60hz games without modding your PAL megadrive?

Very nice, what's different about v2.0+ Steve?
I just had the Everdrive MD, never had a v1 Mega Everdrive so not sure what has changed from v1 to v2.

    From the man himself.
It's from a while ago, and the Mega Everdrive has been updated twice since then.

    http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/mega-everddrive.36123/

one important notice: mega everdrive and everdrive md is not same thing, it is two completly different cart. also, mega everdrive is not everdrive md replacement. everdrive md is cost effective solution, mega everdrive is a ultimate hi-end solution which will be cost a lot (around 150usd). everdrive md will be available and supported even after mega ed release

well, mega ed in approach, so probably time to make some thread about new ultimate solution for genesis/megadrive.
mega ed is not finished yet, so i can't say exactly what will be implemented or will not, but here is list of features which is planned, some of them already implemented:
    already implemented:
    0)instant loading (1-2 sec)
1)large rom suppport - up to 10 mbyte
2)snapshot saves, like on emulator. and regular saves, of course
2x)firmware update without jtag. enough to copy new OS into SD card to get new firmware
3)advanced sms support. codemasters and korean mappers
    4)ram cart for mega cd
5)dual sd slot, one internal micro sd and external standard SD
6)fast usb for development, and may be for netplay
7)return to menu by reset button
and below is features which not implemented yet, and may be some of them will not be implemented never:
    8)fm sound for sms
    9) netplay (mabe i will make a net patches for some games)
    10) seriall eeprom saves
    11) nes emulation
    12) may be something else, what is forgotten :)

Cyclone II FPGA, and 16mbyte of sdram provide a lot of hardware resources, so here is almost unlimited field for phantasy :)

The postman knocked twice today :pac:

Been looking for a nice condition AvenuePad 6 to see how it plays with Street Fighter 2 on the PC Engine.
It feels pretty decent, but the Duo RX pad is definitely better.

No I bought it online from The Rage the other day and yeah it cause headaches I find I can't play for more than around 30 minutes without a slight headache appearing. I'll probably pick up a Flash Boy when I can to play some other games to go with it and if a can the 2 Mario games for it as I'm a collector of Mario games.

Wario Land is actually a very good game and that's what I've been playing the most.

Yep wario is the only game with playing on it!
    That and water world............

It's a shame you have to break your neck to use it

Well I looked online on Ebay and it would have cost me a few hundred extra near double what I paid if I was to buy the console and 9 games online so for me it was a fair price.

The Virtual Boy library is quite small but there's a fair few good games in it.

I have most of the good stuff for mine, but I'm missing Teleroboxer.
There's an amazing 3D Tetris out there as well, but costs a packet.
And a homebrew genius made a demo of Mario Kart that's incredible, but you'll need a Flash Boy to play it.

I'll get a Flashboy when I have the funds for it as the games are pretty expensive but would like hard copy of the Mario games. Teleroboxer is quite good just getting use to the controls of it.

Thing about the flashboy is its very expensive.
For that price you could collect almost everything worth owning on the console, about 9 titles.
And then, just save for the one or two others worth owning but cost more.
The homebrew scene is interesting but limited to demos really, not really worth owning a flashcart unless it's important to you.
Also, the cart can only hold one game at a time and no game saves, so it has limits too, unless they've changed that with a revision.

Hyper Fighting looks amazing on the Virtual Boy, and i mean from just watching gameplay videos. I could only imagine how cool it looks with the 3D effect.

Bound High would be the one game I'd get a flash cart for. Looks interesting, like Zenith on the CDi except it isn't on the CDi and therefore good.

Picked up Sky Crawlers for the Wii today, only €12 too, in Dynamite Games, St Malo.
They had a small selection of SNES, Nes and MD releases, more recent stuff though.

where are all these mythical charity shops and car boot sales?
all I ever find is ten-a-penny kids ps2/ds games.

It's just pot luck with charity chops and car boots really. You need to invest the time and have patience. I used to do a weekly charity shop scout and nine times out of ten I'd come out empty handed, however the odd time it paid off.
