Looks like Lance was driving with damage

    Oh that explains it.

There I was thinking Perez was getting shafted and Strolls dad was just giving him a seat. Turns out he had damage under his front wing all these years.

Expect big things in the next race.

Does make sense as he was very quick for the first stint and the first part of the second before he started to have issues. Also makes sense as to why his first set of Intermediate went off quicker than the others.

It was a good race and well done to Hamilton on the win. It was funny with all of his tire complaining he lucked into a strategy by doing nothing at all. He did nothing wrong though and deserves the credit. Verstappen could have won if he was a bit more patient, the move on Perez was desperate and had the word incident written all over it from the body language of the car from early on in the overtake attempt. Great job by the Ferraris, they looked fast on fresh intermediates.

Bottas and Albon..... At least Albon looked like he might do something for a while. Bottas is arguably having a much worse season than Albon. He has been gifted with one of the greatest cars to ever grace the F1 grid and he has never looked further away from Hamilton. A couple of phone in 2nd place finishes are very deceptive and when you consider the gap in performance between the Red Bull and Merc..... Bottas deserves the same criticism as Albon. It makes me wonder if the reason Hamilton is dragging his heels on a new contract is because he is so bored. Not much will change in 2021. In all likelihood McLaren will take points from Red Bull and Hamilton will win the 23 round (!) championship by a record total.

It was strange how he totally dropped off

Max and Albon looked good at stages but they fell due to mistakes they made while Stroll just lost pace after pitting

People are forgetting that Stroll basically disappeared after he put on the second Intermediate set, while Perez didn't pit and made it last until the end.

Of course making the tires last has been a great merit on the part of Checo (and Hamilton), but we don't really know if the issue of not switching the new set on properly, on a drying track, would've affected Perez as well.

His car was broken, not his fault

Perez historically is excellent on his tyres, but it's pretty obvious in the case of the conditions in this particular race that staying out on the inters (which effectively became slicks at the correct operating temperature) was a huge advantage over sticking new tyres on, across the board.

When you think about Bottas going on new inters and what a disaster that was, yes the right strategy was to let the inters wear down to slicks. If you looked at Hamilton's tyres at the end of the race there was no thread left

That's answered a question I asked myself about something I saw in the race. When Hamilton closed up to lap Bottas, I notice both accelerated together off Turn 2. Hamilton got excellent traction whereas Bottas’ car was snaking and squirming all over the place. I thought it was down to a difference in setup or perhaps even a a problem like San Marino striking again. Looks like it was just down to tyres so

Bottas' teapot had suffered damage. So tea was leaking out before the chocolate could melt.
The only damage to Bottas's car is the person driving it
