Where do you do your online clothes shopping?

Is Amazon really the best spot?

When I'm in a store, typically I can tell what will suit me just by looking at it.

I try on to double check sizes and get some perspective on some clothes folded on the rack, but a well outlined online picture pretty much lets me see what the item looks like with good perspective anyways.

And I personally find it a pain walking about stores looking for items, when I can simply scroll through an internet page and get exactly what I'm looking for.

In other words I intend to do the majority of clothes shopping online moving forward.

Amazon is great, but for completeness (aside from sports direct which is average at best), any other recommended online clothes stores that are frequently used/recommended in Ireland?

For basics, in level 5, I use Dunnes a fair bit.

I use ASOS a lot because I like their delivery and returns.

I've never really bought clothes from amazon.

I tend to shop Zara, H and M, Next, River Island too

Not bad, I did a quick search for one article I'd buy frequently, denim shorts.

ASOS was actually okay but, I never actually heard of them as a brand before, and clearly they're not suppliers but actual manufacturers.

Might have another browse at their merchandise.

But amazon was way better for that particular clothing item, diversity in it and price.

The other shops had little to nothing worthwhile for that "specialist item", per se.

    But keep the suggestions coming.

Kind of tight fit/stretch jeans, ripped look etc., v-neck t-shirts, cool button down shirts with a "ripped" or badged appearance and specialist shoes like British Knight would be primarily what I'd would be looking at.

I find M and M Direct great for clothes and runners too. Don't think I've ever had to send anything back. Really good value. And I'm pretty sure they have free delivery if you spend enough.

Shein is great too as a substitute for cheap Penneys type clothes, so long as you don't mind waiting ages for delivery. They won't last forever, but you get what you pay for, and they're dead cheap.

During lockdown I've been using Dunnes, Littlewoods, Next, Elverys and various local shops that I'm trying to support. I'd never think of Amazon for clothes apart from yoga leggings.

Has anyone any experience of virtual shopping with Kildare village?

    reddit.com/r/europeanmalefashion/comments/2uimhn/complete_list_of_online_retailers_in_europe_v3/

retailmenot via that r/ seems to scan most sites for desired items.

Most of the type of clothes I'm looking for seem to be available primarily through amazon.

The single brand stores simply don't carry the ripped denim shorts, roco style sneakers or stretch/ripped denim jeans.

Amazon seems to offer the best for my search criteria; surprised not to see more of ya'll advocate that.

I’d never think of looking on Amazon but I try not to use Amazon much.

For kids I usually look at Next, H&M and Zara

For me my most recent purchase was CoS

Ebay mostly. Will also buy from Reiss, Monsoon, ASOS and Whistles a fair bit. I'm a fairly standard size so generally don't have to worry about fit. Amazon is pretty good for sportswear. I buy my swimsuits there, much better selection than Elverys.

In fairness, you asked where people shopped online, not where the best place online is to buy ripped denim

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=stretch+ripped+jeans+men&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

    That is boss.

I mean, what other website provides that kind of selection?

ASOS design is sub par in comparison.

Are you actually asking a question, or telling us your opinion?

People have gone out of their way to assist you and you just keep saying Amazon is best. There's no point in this thread in that case.

Just filter out ASOS design, and you'll be left with all the other brands they sell.

Amazon can be pretty hot and miss. Sometimes changing the size on an item completely changed the description, so you've no idea what you're buying. Then there's the issues with buying from outside the EU to contend with on Amazon. ASOS doesn't have that issue, as they fulfill Irish orders from an EU warehouse.

I'm challenging their opinion, to refine the optimal result.

If you filter on Asos by mens super skinny ripped jeans 76 options come up.
A lot are stretch denim too.

I don't think people need their opinions challenged on where they like to shop  You're the one looking for suggestions, but you seem thrilled with Amazon?

    I'm a reductionist at heart.

Means I always look for the optimal.

Challenging = scrutinizing suggestions + rigorous comparison.

Consider it the mathematics of the high street.

You are looking for a specific, quite outdated style of men's clothing. You didn't ask people where best to get this, you asked were they (men and women) buy clothes online. Seems your initial query was suboptimal.

I'm currently pregnant, I really like denim from H&M, their treggings are very comfy and their sizing is much more consistent in the MAMA range than I remember from shopping there in general.

Dunnes are good for basics but their sizing is all over thr place, I buy the same size in everything (maternity) and some stuff is swimming on me while other stuff is ridiculously tight.

ASOS had 20% for valentines day so I got some new PJs, I like their Modal pyjamas!
I see ASOS now have wide fit converse which I might treat myself to :)

Actually it was more a specific "genre" of clothes I inquired about,
Kind of tight fit/stretch jeans, ripped look etc., v-neck t-shirts, cool button down shirts with a "ripped" or badged appearance and specialist shoes like British Knight would be primarily what I'd would be looking at.

Amazon at a glance seems to have the best, most cost effective, and accessible (not having to wade through 100's of items with an infinite number of filters) results.

Still though, there's several of those items I still can't find.

I picked up this really cool badged shirt in a thrift store years ago but alas, pumping iron my shoulders became too swole and it no longer fits.

I was trying to find an upgrade in this but amidst all the suggestions, sites, 1000's of results, literally not a thing to be found.

    ....

So yeah, the very unique subset of clothes I'm looking for requires casting a wide net. Getting perspective on the popular outlets seemed fairly intuitive.

    .....

(PS - Just as a matter of clarity, cause lets face it, there's probably a few of ya'll wondering - I am strictly into women).

Guys what’s the story with ordering from ASOS (and other UK sites) do you have to pay customs fees over a certain amount?

Asos are fulfilling their Irish orders from an EU based warehouse. So far no issues though their delivery has been little bit slower.

Why don't you get a shirt and put badges and patches on yourself. It'd be unique and you can pick and choose what you wont on it.Plenty of badges available online for cheap.

I think I'm still getting next day delivery from ASOS, that or 2 day (depends if its a weekend) got my Sunday order on the Tuesday.

I have VIP delivery, definitely recommend.

ASOS definitely have an issue with refunds at the moment, ya took about 3 weeks to acknowledge my return and then they still have to issue the refund. It doesn't affect to badly as I use my CC, but if you are tight for money / using your debit card then it might be a problem for you.

ASOS all the way. €20 next day DHL delivery for the year. 20% off code once or twice a month. Always pay in sterling as it turns into a 15% saving. Delivered from Germany.

Thread locked, this is going nowhere fast. OP, you've received plenty of answers.

The forum charter also specifically calls out that we will not tolerate linking of certain types of clothes to sexuality.
