Sorry Chancer, I was looking at that one and I would have considered a place-lay if I was an online punter :o

Went for a couple of small each ways on Hepijeu and Anteros

There are probably two better horses in the race in contingency and rachale blackmores janmaat but black scorpion is a bit of a killarney specialist.

Has been terrible of late but hoping it'll rediscover its touch in the 6.30 tomorrow.

Gonna back ew, 8s at the minute but wouldn't be surprised if it drifted even bigger by the evening.

Manolith could be having his last run for YTR in an open looking 1.15 at Pontrefact,he goes to the sales and is obviously doing his very best today.
It is a tricky race but Manolith is ew value at 7 or 8 to 1.
Tudhope rides today having gone close on the horse recently and that a bonus as he knows the horse well.

The good ground will suit better than the very soft last time and we are hoping for a good run.

    Paddy Power going 4 places.

Declared in a 6f at Ripon today?

Goes to the sales on friday so as he is ok this morning it was decided to let him take his chance, first time over 6 furlongs but Dandyman gets plenty 6 furlong horses so i hope he stays and is over the exertions of yesterday and i will back him ew.

Looks like the draw played a big part in the defeat of Manolith with low numbers having the two 6 furlong races to themselves.

pure rotten luck lately with places , luck of clover in the last at newbury to seal it

What kind of money would a good 3YO like that fetch Zimmer?

What kind of money would a good 3YO like that fetch Zimmer?

Its hard to know, there are plenty of mid 70 rated horses about and with the season curtailed and no opportunity to go racing for small syndicates like ours in the foreseeable future i would not be optimistic.

It is a positive that he is a tough reliable gelding that should stay racing for many years to come and may improve for better ground on less demanding tracks over 6 furlongs.

Will be in the ring on friday and somewhere between 10 and 15 grand would be good imo and he will likely be bought by a trainer for a syndicate who want one ready to go.

If there is no interest i would be happy to continue through the season and give him a spin on the AW.

Some very good racing today and a few that should give us a run listed below 3 ew bets at good prices and 3 short priced ones that should go well.

EQUITATION is a big price at 18 -20/1 for the 12.45 at Newmarket, stable is out of form at present hence the big price but there are signs that the drought for this normally shrewd yard is coming to an end.Runs well in big field handicaps and with good claimer back on board i will not be surprised if he goes close.

YAZAMAN AROUND 6/1 3.oc Newmarket ran a blinder lto when badly drawn and switched to the rails only to find the way blocked and had to switch again inside the final furlong in the race won by Tactical who is one of the favs today.

In my opinion YAZAMAN would have won if drawn as well as Tactical that day and is a very goo d bet to turn the tables today.

My third bet is ALWAYS RESOLUTE trained by Ian Williams who also has a claimer on board, C AND D winner at York ALWAYS RESOLUTE is way too big a price at around 10/1 in the 4.50.
A winner here last july off 75 with this jockey up has a very good chance off 78 today for a trainer who is also out of form.

LORD CAMPARI 1.50 New 1.50 SARDINIA SUNSET 2.05 York AND MUKER 4.20 York are three at short prices that could oblige.

I think I'll have to allow for deteriorating going across the pond for a few for tomorrow. Hard to make a decision when conditions underfoot are unknown. Musselburgh is good - good to firm supposedly. I'm going to 'assume' it's no better than good so and make selections on that basis.

I'll hopefully have some confidence to find one or two later on or tomorrow.

Will take a chance on UNIVERSAL GLEAM e/w in the upcoming 5.20 at York at 28/1.

Newmarket was a right muck festival raining cats and dogs reminded me of glastonberry, meanwhile the sunshine came out at navan but allezallezallez couldnt keep up

Had a look at the racecards and picked out a few for tomorrow/today/later on - whatever :)
Currently Soft is in the going descriptions, best as I can tell, in two out of the three meetings I'm having a punt. Musselburgh currently good - good to firm in places, and I'm hoping that will have eased to good as I factored in some rain up north.

Anyway, these are my darts. I'll be hoping a few can at least give me a run for my money.

    Newmarket

    12.45 BREATHLESS TIMES 16/1 PP
Mainly been campaigned on the all weather. First run a few weeks ago after an absence over the 5f trip, same distance as race here. Hoping it's unexposed. Oisin Murphy gets the leg up for the first time here.
    Each way bet for me.

    Market Rasen

    12.00 BEAR VALLEY 9/1 PP/Boyles
Just the two runs over the sticks and seems to be improving. Had a spin on the flat at Doncaster 2 weeks ago over a similarish trip. Ran well and should be fit at least.
    Each way here.

    2.05 FIESOLE 9/1 PP
Hoping the cheekpieces spark a revival. Johnson up.
    Each way

    2.40 SAN BENEDETO 9/1 PP/Boyles
finished 6th over C&D in October with an inexperienced jockey on board. Race was ran in a good time. Bryony Frodon:p takes the mount.
    Each way

Same race COPPER WEST 14/1 PP
Won that race in October where the other selection came 6th. Hoping the form stacks up.
    Each way bet.

    Musselburgh

    3.25 EXCESSABLE 8/1 PP/Boyles
Goes well at course. Dropping down the weights.
    No surprise- another each way.

    4.00 DONNELLY'S RAINBOW 16/1 PP/Boyles
Conditions should be ideal for this one to give a good account.
    Again each way.

    4.35 NAPLES BAY 18/1 PP
Not without a chance here, may need to settle to get the 7 and a bit furlongs,
    Each way

Same race, same trainer ROBBEN RAINBOW 18/1 PP/Boyles
Bit hit and miss this one. Hopefully a hit today. First time blinkers.
    Yep, Each way an all.

5.05 Bit annoyed with myself - I've gone for three here.
    CAPTAIN CORELLI 6/1 PP/Boyles
Last two runs at Wolves give him a chance.
    Each way

    GWEEDORE 10/1 Boyles
Should go well with a clear run.
    Each way

    NOBBY NUTS 5/1 PP/Boyles
    Ran ok here last time.
Backed win only here. Don't want to go overboard in the one race.

    5.40 SEA ART 11/2 PP/Boyles
I think the favourite is worth taking on and I've sided with this one. Might win or come nowhere.
    Win only bet here.

Might be bigger in other bookies but I've selected the shops that are available for me to back in. Don't see any prices from Ladbrokes on the price comparison site.

Only gone for smallish stakes. Hopefully can have a good day.

    Gluck

EDIT If I had to pick one out of the lot of them as a NAP it would be DONNELLY'S RAINBOW in the 4.00 Muss. as I feel he ticks all the boxes - C&D
winner, has also ran well many times over Course and Distance without winning but filling one of the places, has a very good chance of making the frame here or even winning, is a big price and a value one (value is paramount to some folks) - well every box apart from current form else he wouldn't be available at 16s... Giddy up!

I can only admire and be envious of the energy leffesem has lol and i hope he has a bundle of winners today.

For my part i am hoping for a return to form with just 2 selections today that i fancy to return a profit.

DINO VELVET 2.05 Market Rasen has been running well in decent handicap hurdles and was a good 3rd on july 1st in a similar race.

Best form is on good and good to soft (todays going) and i backed it ew at 11/2 this morning ,Heskin is a jockey i like and everything points to a good run.

CHRISTOPHER WOOD has bottom weight in the 3 .oc at Newmarket, won and showed decent form for Michael Bell over 8 furlongs before moving to Nicholls for a hurdling career that is going ok,has had some issues that involved two wind operations and i see that as a plus showing that Nicholls thought it worthwhile keeping the horse.

Back on the flat 30 days won a mile and a half handicap, ranning on well to get up close home depspite being hampered.

Only 3 lbs higher today and with Megan Nicholls on board again i backed it at 7/1,todays race is 2 furlongs longer but that should not be a problem and the bonus of 5 places with PP makes this a very good ew bet.

Thanks Zimmer, good luck to you as well :)

I hit a 'study purple patch' every now and then:p and pick out a few that I don't mind having a little each way on for an interest and hopefully entertainment, and even better if I make a profit.

Almost thought I had it there in the first at MR :( Good ride by Jack; went to try and win the race which is what I like to see, as opposed to try and 'not to lose'. Probably not the best stayer and beaten by the better horse.

Good luck to yours as well. Hopefully we'll both make a bit today :)

Had a look at Newmarket and only gave it a cursory glance; picked 1 there in the 12.45 and it's a Non runner :( (Breathless Times in the 12.45). Only 1 out of all I picked that doesn't take any part today, so not too bad :)

Looking again today there's one that is a sporting each way bet and that is SHAILENE in the 3.00.

Soft ground and the distance - 1m6f - are both of concern, but the horse is a course winner, has only had the one run on bona fide soft ground and is fairly priced at 22/1 with Oisin on board, and I feel this one is worth an each way tilt albeit for minimal stakes.

    Gluck

Yes indeed that Grand Rock is very interesting pottokblue. He's still an entire, and his comeback run was interesting - he went all the way from the front, most of his other races he took a lead, or was held up; almost as if Willie wanted to get him cherry ripe for another day :P

He's 7/1 to back, which is decent for an each way bet. However, I would just have the win on him myself as not fully sure he'll stay the 10f's. I would be very happy to back him win only, but sadly I have no online account and am not near a bookies atm.

I hope he romps home for ya :D

I haven't looked at tomorrow's cards at all yet - will check out that Russian Virtue for sure.
