How can I get involved in the country music scene?

It's pretty big around me but it's just gigs from the like of Nathan Carter or Derek Ryan..

I've been playing guitar and singing for years and country is a large part of the music I grew up to thanks to my father always playing it (and some James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, and Springsteen for good measure).

I'm based around Galway Roscommon side.

How can I get up on stage singing and playing a few tunes?

I'm not one for dancing and my friends are far more into the techno scene than country.. so I've never had the chance to really go to any gigs.
