Здравствуйте, Nín hăo, Kon’nichiwa, Annyeonghaseyo! Welcome to the World Languages Forum! This Charter contains the rules for this forum, so please have a read through it before posting.

This forum is for the discussion of Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages only. For discussion about other languages, please choose either the general Languages Forum, or the European Languages Forum. History, culture, travel, politics, etc would be better suited to either the specific forum for the country in question, the History Forum, or the Politics Forum (links to all below)

    Guidelines & Terms of Use
Like every other forum on the site, the World Languages Forum is subject to the Boards.ie Guidelines and Terms of Use. Please familiarise yourselves with these before posting on the site.

    Prefixes
The prefixes are [Russian] [Chinese] [Japanese] and [Korean] . They denote which language is being discussed in each thread. To make it easier for all users, please make sure to choose a prefix from the drop-down menu when you’re starting a new thread.

    Be Nice
We want to keep the atmosphere of the forum relaxed and friendly, so please keep that in mind when posting. Don’t make disparaging remarks about other posters’ linguistic abilities – everyone learns at their own pace, and you do not have to be fluent in a language to post here. Trolling, flaming, baiting etc is prohibited here and on the rest of the site.

    Language Classes/Lessons/Grinds, etc
If you or someone you know gives language classes, and would like the details to be added to the Lessons & Grinds Sticky, please PM one of the Moderators and ask them to put your name, number etc in the thread. Do not start a new thread advertising your services; it will be deleted and you may receive an infraction or ban.

    Reporting a Post
If you see a post that breaks the site/forum rules, please click the Report Post Button report.gif and a Moderator will have a look at it. Please bear in mind that the Moderators are volunteers, and are not online 24/7.

    What Moderators Do
The moderators look after the forum, and keep it running smoothly. From time to time, they will have to issue on-thread warnings, or even infract/ban users. If you disagree with a moderator decision, then use the Private Message function to discuss it with the mod in question. Do not discuss/challenge/question mod actions or decisions on thread. This will usually earn you a card or ban from the forum. If you cannot come to an agreement with a mod, or you do not get a reply (allow at least 24 hours, as I said, mods aren't online 24/7) then please follow the procedure in the Dispute Resolution Forum.

    The Forum Mods
The moderators for the World Languages Forum are Atavan-Halen, JT26 and Konata
