Lightning Strike

So I'm in Tennessee at the moment and there's this big thunder storm. I was outside in it for about two hours watching the sky turn purple all night. It was great. I went back inside afterwards and my girlfriend is studying on the couch so I sit down beside her and I'm just arsing about online. All of a sudden we hear this weird electrical noise and I look over at my jacket about 3 feet away from us and I see lightning INSIDE the apartment. The whole apartment shook and we saw the lightning travel up through the light on the ceiling of the apartment and out. Then an insanely loud crack of thunder right above us and the place shook again.

I'm not fecking joking - it was CRAZY. I just wish I had my camera phone recording when it happened. I'm still shaking from the whole experience.

Did you get up on the roof and look for scorch marks or anything?

I unplug my pc when there is lightning, probably too cautious but would hate for my pornimportant work documents to get toasted

Can't get to the roof - it's a 3 story apartment and we are on the bottom. The guys above us say they saw it come up through the floor of their apartment (which is when it went up through our light). We have surge protectors all over the apartment so all appliances were OK thankfully. If I was having dinner (as I was an hour beforehand) I would have been hit. Brilliant stuff! :)

I read the other day of a lightening strike at a football match in Africa which killed all 11 players on one team and left the other team unscathed bar some burns.

    No kidding (apparently).
