Sorry I am posting a lot but I feel really anxious so just distracting.

Same film/camera as above. Also same guy and dog, I promise I was not stalking them, just walking same route :p

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this on, I'm new to boards and to film photography for that matter. I got a Diana mini because I wanted to try film photography. When I got my photos back after being developed I only got 13 photos on a 26 exposure film and half of them were just blocks of grey on photo paper or very dark and you couldn't see what was in the photo. Was there a problem with the film I used, the camera or did I have the wrong iOS and light conditions set? I can't figure out how to post a picture on this

If the film was grey/black (and not transparent) in those sections it sounds a lot like you took the photos with incorrect settings. Where did you take photos, was it indoors/late at night?
I don't think people with less than 20 posts can post photos of links so maybe thats whats up with that.

Have you the actual negatives ? What does it look like? Transparent ? Almost completely black? Are there edge markings? From what I remember of the Diana mini you only get one shutter speed and two apertures, so you have little control over exposure so it's possible you just completely underexposed or overexposed everything. What speed film were you using ? In what situations did you take the photos ?

I was using iso 200 film, half the photos were taken indoors and rest outdoors when it was a bit cloudy both in the daytime. I have the negatives and they look just transparent mostly

If they look see through (not black/grey) then it means they were never exposed, (I think) as it happened to a 35mm camera I had, it wound on the film too much so it never got exposed to the light so had no information.

if the negs are see through, they were either not exposed or badly underexposed - does the diana have a lock to prevent wind-on without shutter release? i have a vague notion it doesn't.

the human eye is very good at fooling you about how bright it is indoors. it's a fraction of the light levels you get outside. is there any consistency with the shots - i.e. are all the ones where you can see a photo the ones where they were shot outdoors?

I aquired an old Minolta Hi-Matic E about 3 years ago and got it running (Even posting here about it). I occasionally take it out to events and the like, more for the enjoyment of using such an old piece of hardware for what it was meant for, than anything. It works beautifully and deserves far better than sitting on the shelf.

And a Dog is Fine too, to finish out the roll.

    Film is Fuji Superia 400.
And I need to find another processor - the chemist that used to do 'em cheaply (And well, I might add) gutted their developing machines a few months back.
