I have bought LG TV with 6 years warranty. Its only 3 months old.

Am I entitled to a new TV or repair?

Did you buy online or bricks and mortar? Bring/send it back to the shop you bought it from, and you can try and negotiate either a repair, replacement or a refund. If they insist on a repair (the retailer can decide this), it must be permanent.

Repair or replace if repair doesn't work

Bought it online. They have agreed to repair it. But I am wondering if I could ask a new one instead given it is only 3 months old?

You can ask, but the retailer can insist on the repair route first

You asked about your rights. you have a right to one of the 3 R's. Repair replace refund as a remedy. And you dont get to choose which one.

So from what you have said the retailer has offered one of the 3 r's. Repair. This is an acceptable offer, because its one of the 3 R's.
However the repair must be permanent. so if this same issue occurred again, within the useful lifetime of the TV - you could then say you have already repaired it, now a different remedy must be offered.

your preference might be for a new TV, but you don't have a right to demand one.

    Thanks for this.

So just be clear re: 3 R's. Why is repair twice?

    Its actually 4 r,s
    Repair
    Replace
    Refund of full cost
    Reduction of initial price.
in your case only the common first 3 r,s would apply.
