I saw a post on Facebook about a new walk up Knocknarea. Does anyone know anything about it. Is it up a different side of the mountain? Where does it go from? Is there parking?
    Cheers

Must try it on my next visit to Sligo and hoping the weather will be good.

It's going to be officially open from Sat 18th June. In the meantime it involves a bit of climbing over fences to get onto the path.

What would be the trek time from the rugby club to the top? I'd like to make an afternoon out of it with the Camera the next time I'm up in Sligo with the wife.

Don't know about him, but I'd love to take a mountain bike down it.

Never heard of this. Have my sunday planned now after a visit to the markets :)

Is there alot of fencing to climb to access it. Would love to bring my dog on the hike but she's a big girl so no hope of me lifting her over anything.

No fence to climb.... was able to bring my Dalmatian.. He loved it!..most of it is fenced in so he didn't worry any sheep....but the second section wasn't finished and there was a few horses that he could have got close to.... Then at the very top when the steps finish its very open... so watch him there

Thanks Scarlet. Always keep mine on lead so should be no problem there. She's happy walking past livestock. Just would have never been able to "carry" her over a fence. Cheers.
