Was half watching the late news and weather on RTE 1 a few minutes ago and took me a few seconds to register that there was a new weather presenter doing the forecast. Rewound and saw that her name was Joanna Donnelly.

Not sure if she is just a temporary stand in for now or someone who is set to become a more permanent feature.

She has been doing the radio broadcasts for a long time now so I suppose it's a natural progression. They had only 4 after The Eagle and Gerald Fleming stopped.

he used to present the TV weather a few years back. He was someone who seemed to emotional involved with his forecasts which was no bad thing at all.

Yeah Siobhans chic red outfit the other night was a knockout. She must be trying to cheer up the unfortunate folk under flood threat.

Chic red?! Are you that guy who creeps on Irish female TV personalities by posting clips of them on YouTube and detailing what they're wearing?

I think they should get rid of the on screen presenters, they serve no purpose especially those who can't even point to the fecking maps.
There was one on last night after the late summary, and considering that this stuff is pre-recorded, it was absolutely atrocious.
Think of the money they'd save on hair and makeup and outfits.........

Spotted another new face on the late RTE weather just now. Didn't catch her name unfortunately. She seems to have a soft, midwest accent, which is refreshing to hear, but I'm biased. Her presentation style is relaxed and easy. :)

They have people fill in now and again I think, but these two I havent seen before.
There is another woman that does the voice over before a programme starts, she presents the weather now and again, filling in I presume, she is very cool and confident.
