Hi all,

Hyundai diesel service cost?

    Was quoted €170 for a full service on Diesel 1 6 Hyundai hatchback at independent garage, is this reasonable or not? And what does a full service usually involve as opposed to a basic oil/ filter service? Thanks

    You should be getting, oil, oilf filter, air filter, fuel filter, cabin filter and checks on coolant level and brake fluid....
    Also look over brakes and other suspension parts etc...

    The bill could well be more after all.

    170 isn’t a lot for a full service. On the basis that the difference between that and a minor service is fuel, air and pollen filters, as well as visual checks.

    We were charging 160 for oil, filter and check over in a main dealer

    Almost certainly not. The time to ask what it includes is now, not when you collect the car.

    "Full service" means entirely different things to different people.

    At €170, expect additional items to be added. There's always something that can be done. Just tell them to call you in advance of doing anything beyond the €170

    Nope. Usually spark plugs on a petrol are substituted for fuel filter on a diesel on menu pricing services

    Main dealer will charge around 360.00 for a "Full" service on a diesel.
    Oil / air / pollen and fuel filters. Check over / software updates etc.

    What year is the car,how many Km on it?
    If its still inside the Hyundai warranty think twice about an Indy doing it - It can make future warranty claims hard to get over the line.

    Based on recent experience, Hyundai will go as far as checking that one of their dealers used the correct spec oil during a service for some warranty issues.

    A local indie was trying to get a warranty claim started for issues with the timing gear, (not sure if its belt or chain), and Hyundai came back looking for a copy of the service report relating to a service carried out at the premises of a Hyundai dealer in another part of the country.

    Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
