    Much like the previous What's on in the City? thread, the same principles apply.

    Here you can notify others of things; events, happenings, concerts, good restaurants, table quizzes, fundraisers, classes, for the month and following months. Any events pertaining to later months will be carried over until the event is over.

    A few rules, however;
    You have to have 200 posts or more to post, or >1 years on boards.
    Tell us a little about the event - posting a flyer will not do and will count as spam.
    Once an event has been posted in this thread don't repost it - no bumping or reminding of events either.
    Old events, too much chat, spam or topics that don't belong will be (re)moved.

    'The Rock' classic rock radio going live in Galway from 6am tomorrow Monday on 89.5MHz for three weeks. Been listening to the test transmissions the last couple of nights and its playing some excellent stuff. Apparently it's a sister station of Nova in Dublin.

    Edit: Actually mods might want to move this somewhere else in case people want to discuss it?

    As part of the week long nationwide event "Trad for Trocaire" (see www.trocaire.org/trad ) two sessions will be held in Galway City:
    trad-landing-page.jpg
    • Session at 2.30pm, Sat. 26th. Sept., Taaffes Bar (Shop Street)
    • Session at 9.30pm, Thurs. 1st. October, Western Hotel, Prospect Hill, Galway City
    Admission is free, but at the session please throw a euro or two into the bucket for Trocaire. Come along to join us playing tunes, to shake a bucket, or just to listen. (For the session in Taaffes, if the weather is reasonable, we'll play in the outdoor seating area, so bring your friends, family, kids (if you bring two kitchen spoons, we'll show your kids how to play the spoons!) We'll have balloons, stickers, T-shirts for musicians.
