Beautiful clear sunny day yesterday in Donegal, lovely sunrise and sunset. Another nice calm sunny morning today

September and October have been very pleasant in Dublin. Classic Ireland in many ways, March to May superb with dry and warm, June to August poor & wet and September and October mostly dry. Such an odd year in keeping with 2020 in many ways. 593 mm of rain to date which is probably a bit higher than average heading towards November. I think Dublin average about 740mm per year

Been a great week for October in general here in Kerry. No rain for 4 days, before that mostly light rain at night time/ early mornings with good clear spells during the days. October now standing at 50 mm so far. Temperatures on the cool side but great for working and walking with some nice sunny spells and got up to 16.1C on Thursday. Winds light in general and predominantly NW. A lot of outside jobs done this week and must finish the grass today before the weather goes downhill next week.

Got below 5C early morning and remaining cool at 11.8C today. Started bright but cloudier now adding to the cool feel.

    Low pressure nearby swirling about.

    Weather Advisory for Ireland

Conditions turning unsettled by the end of the weekend, with a spell of very wet and at times windy weather on Monday and Tuesday.

Persistent and locally heavy rainfall, coupled with high soil saturation levels, brings a risk of river and surface flooding.

Unusually high tides combined with strong winds gives an elevated risk of coastal flooding.

Warnings will be issued on Sunday.

    Valid: 00:00 Monday 19/10/2020 to 18:00 Thursday 22/10/2020

    Issued: 12:00 Saturday 17/10/2020

Well, we have had a glorious week, many of us. It has been a really welcome break

And the equinox is so close. I am not sure if it affects here as much as it did Orkney where the equinoctial gales were …..And the warning lasts until Thursday 22nd.

Do they really need to issue a warning for every rain forecast? It seems overkill and eventually people will ignore them completely  I'm starting to ignore all these rain warnings as they're pointless :D

Made the most of the glorious day by having a drive to the west of the County (Sligo) and had a mighty long walk along most of the beach in Enniscrone as the tide was lowest around 1pm.
The few people around were enjoying it as well with hearty salutations re the weather!!
    Let the rain begin.......

Miserable and cold in Dublin. This lockdown is going to be a lot harder than the one last spring, being able to go to the park every day in that beautiful weather meant lockdown was almost an enjoyable experience for me!
