Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Title Deeds.

    Hello. By what method can I obtain the title deeds to my home other than contacting the solicitor I dealt with when purchasing the property? It is a registered dwelling and I have a folio number.

    If you have a mortgage on the property, the deeds are with the lender.

    I think the LAND REGISTRY has it all on file now.

    At least that is what I found out when my dear mother passed and the house had to be sold. No bother about getting the original deeds at all anymore it is all digital. Well I stepped out of the picture anyway and let those I was paying to sort it. But there was no bother. Never had to produce any deeds as executor anyway, happy days.

    Still not sure if the original deeds are required, but it was a swift enough process in our case anyway even though I didn't have the deeds to hand.

    Someone will tell me I am wrong, or that I had a brilliant solicitor, which I did! Never thought to ask them, must do that soon.

    Our own deeds are in a treasury building vault somewhere but I'm not too concerned, seems it is not vital to have the originals anymore. Can anyone verify?
