YouTube golf

So the last 6 months I've started watching a lot of golf on YouTube. I started out watching instructional videos but now mostly stick with the course vlogs or challenges or new products. They're great if you're a bit of a golf nut and I'd almost watch them ahead of live golf on TV!

Anyway I've subscribed to a few and watch most of what they upload. Mainly, Rick shiels, Peter finch, seb on golf, me and my golf and Mark crossfield.

Peter finch recently had a video up of Adare Manor and I thought it was really good along with it being a big advert for the Manor.

So does anyone think they're good or are there others worth checking out?

I'm going do bit of decent practise over the winter and hopefully get play much more next year now. Only played 11 rounds this year so far.

I haven't got to dive into this yet as much as Id have liked but I love the way they do these videos. And they seem to tackle any thought you could have about any part of your swing.

I can't say its helped me much yet but I hope for the winter months to use them to get a better swing and understanding of the golf swing

I've looked at a few of the Athletic Motion Golf videos, a bit overly techy at times but some good insights.

Golfholics, watching them since day 1, super vids to kill 20odd minutes here and there, good camera work and good background music too, highly recommend

Great info here, probably too technical but something to revert to if I'm struggling on a particular shot.

Came across these guys recently they do some great videos on club fittings and comparisons on different brands of clubs they aren't affiliated with any one manufacturer either so give an indepth and honest opinion.

I'm not even looking at buying clubs just find the videos very interesting especially some of the higher handicap fittings.

Bradley Hugh's YouTube is very good better than the other guys imo. Former touring pro with good info not like those instructors who will leave you more confused.

I like the way this guy explains it - makes it simple / logical.

This channel is certainly different. Its a guy who lives in Thailand and vlogs courses there. I really enjoy the way he does a lot of his videos from a entertainment stand point.

I think the videos are kind of a pisstake with the narration but its a lot less chatter then normal vlogs

Anyone been following any of Rick Shiels & his efforts to get a YouTube Open up & running. Planning for a charity event with multiple YouTube golf pros taking part.

He's been getting a bit of abuse for looking to try focus on firstly getting the channels with higher follower/viewer numbers involved. I don't see an issue with that approach myself. If you're planning a charity event it makes sense to look for the highest profile you can.

Sounds like a great idea to me to honest.

    GOLF VLOGS UK

    OMP aka Old Man Pat.

A 76 year old 12 handicapper who features in many of the videos.
He hits it about 180-200 yards off the tee. Watching the videos is a master class in course (and ego) management.

    1. Hit tee shot 200 yards onto fairway.
    2. If pin > 200 yards, lay up short.
    3. Or If pin < 200 yards, hit on or around green.
    4. If off green, pitch and putt.
    5. If on green, 2 putt 'par'
    6. Repeat.
    7. Win match.

What do you think of this golf ball? Must say I like the idea of it especially around the greens.

Paige Spirinac(purely for the golf :D)
    Brodie Smith(can be irrating)

He does a lot of "crazy detail" videos that actually do give good detail... something that the others can be light on.

Have to say that i find shawn Clements swing awful and hard to watch.

For me personally, No Laying Up is out there on it's own for content. I find the podcasts a little american at times but cant recommend the YouTube channel enough. The group have a great dynamic and are genuinely funny (Big Randy is worth it alone).
I recommend starting on the Tourist Sauce series, they've produced three series already (Scotland, Australia and California) and they were here in Ireland this summer to film the fourth series. Basically visited the best of the west coast links and Adare also, should make for great viewing.

I watch Marc Crossfield's stuff also, he can be a bit obnoxious at times but the content is there.
