I'm 21 and a college student.. so I spent a lot of my day on computers, laptops and my phone.

I've been getting headaches for the past couple of weeks, they're just a niggling discomfort more than painful.

I went to get my eyes tested, she said I might have high blood pressure because the blood vessels in my eyes were tortuous, I had my BP checked awhile ago and it was fine.

She wrote a note for my GP anyway as a precaution.
    Right Eye - 0.75
    Left Eye -0.25
Slight myopia and tortuous blood vessels.

I might benefit from glasses while using my laptop during the evening, watching tv, and while driving during the evenings and at night.

Would the glasses for using laptop not mean I have trouble with my short sight?
But myopia is an issue with objects that are far away..

I don't find my vision to be bad, but I get headaches and sore eyes more often than I'd like.

Depends you might be able to see a phone or book ok but not a laptop.

Do you take breaks as in look at a distant object for a few minutes every twenty minutes or so.

The more I'm looking into it it seems like anything past your arms length counts as far sight..

I'm also not sure about how much to fork out for glasses.
My prescription is very basic and apparently cheap so most will be going on the frames..
I think most insurance only covers the purchase from an opticians, maybe I'm wrong?

I've been taking breaks more recently, I've started to notice my eyes feel dry and just generally uncomfortable but there's only so much I can alter my habits around that.

The myopia correction will be for driving at night, TV etc. The potential cause of your headaches could be the slight imbalance between your eyes. In your case your RE will focus closer to you than your LE and because your 2 eyes aren't focusing together, it can cause problems. Also, some people are more sensitive to a slight imbalance than others.

I had the exact same issue whilst I was at uni, but I mostly suffered from dry eyes. You could benefit from eye drops so you aren't straining your eyes even more. I use biotrue eye drops but there's loads you can get over the counter, maybe pop into a pharmacy.

I mentioned that after the first appointment and I was told I don't have dry eyes..
I have had a number of surgeries on my eyelid(s) because of Chalazions and the likes.. so my eyes were sore and dry after that as it's all to do with the oil.
I had wipes and drops after each surgery but not long term.

I've actually been getting worsening headaches since then.
So they started with what I thought was eye strain and have escalated over the last few months into a stabbing pain.
I've been to the my GP, got referred to an acute unit, now I'm just waiting on a specialist appointment but I've had CT, MRI, bloods and the likes all came back normal, so we still don't know if it's actually my eyes.

Surely there's no harm in taking eye drops regardless?
