Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    First gale gust for December recorded: 42mph. Unusual for December to have to wait for so long!

    Rain shower that just passed Mulranny had a few flakes of snow that quickly melted when they hit the window.

    Intense shower of sleet between Westport and Castlebar now. Trying to snow. Temp dropped to 2 degrees in it. Might be an interesting evening ahead.

    Earlier hail showers have now turned to proper snow. Ground too wet to stick tho. West roscommon.
    Edit: it's starting to stick to the grass. Ground must still be pretty cold as we still have lying snow in sheltered spots from Saturday night

    Saggart village on the Kildare/Dublin border, sun is out, feels fresh compared to earlier on which was bitterly cold. Calm before the storm?

    Well the main trough is just hitting the west coast now....The proper cold is behind this so turning much colder as this passes through. Also convection looks very strong so quite likely that this will aid showers to turn wintry.

    It's a 24 hour event at most but a potent one that should at least deliver some snowfall...
    Lying snow possibly just for very high ground

    Heavy rain here now with a sleety mix in West Clare, temperature is 5.7c. Had heavy hail and thunder + lightning around 30-40mins ago.

    In Castletroy, Limerick - it has basically gone from day to night outside now, some hail mixed with rain but the sky is a horrible dark grey. Not feeling very cold though.

    Very marginal later so don't hold your breath. Bitter cold is a windchill factor

    Heavy snow shower in Tuam. Surprising how quickly it is settling despite the wet ground and starting off as rain.

    Edit, easing up gain but was a surprise to see.
