I tried these once, they were in fact cheap and lousy.
Boards are even censoring the food! (Yeah, I know it can't distinguish the meaning.)
Faggots are meatballs made from minced off-cuts and offal, especially pork (traditionally pig's heart, liver, and fatty belly meat or bacon) together with herbs for flavouring and sometimes added bread crumbs. It is a traditional dish in the United Kingdom, especially South and Mid Wales and the English Midlands.

Faggots originated as a traditional cheap food consumed by ordinary country people in Western England, particularly west Wiltshire and the West Midlands. Their popularity spread from there, especially to South Wales in the mid-nineteenth century, when many agricultural workers left the land to work in the rapidly expanding industry and mines of that area. Faggots are also known as "ducks" in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and Lancashire, often as "savoury ducks". The first use of the term in print was in the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser of Saturday 3 June 1843, a news report of a gluttonous man who ate twenty of them.

The first use of the term in print, as cited in the Oxford English Dictionary, dates from 1851, in a piece by Henry Mayhew in which he describes a dish identical to the modern product with chopped liver and lights in an outer wrapper of caul. This was in London.

Considering it's a song about a heterosexual couple flinging insults at each other I have no idea how it's an attack on homosexuals. The word is used as a generic insult in the song. These gobshites don't understand context. They just hear a word and get offended.

I despise the song and would be happy never to hear it again. However editing a song often makes it more annoying, like on MTV when they play a rap song and bleep every second word out or try to hide the word with that weird backwards noise that I think is supposed to resemble a record scratch.

This song has been censored for absolute years now, so this is all faux out-rage sitting on the back of other fake controversies.

Art of any kind is only really art because it provokes an emotional response.
It opens the viewer or listener to the views of the artist and the viewer then interprets that view through their life experience.

I'm very opposed to changing lyrics, hiding pictures or ignoring film because they make a homophobic, racist, or any other kind of phobic view.
Art needs to be viewed and understood as being "of its time" and more specifically to being a view of its creator.

Disney have hidden away and deleted most of its famously racist stuff, Whereas as WB have taken the path of showing a disclaimer before a lot of their early Tom and Jerry and other stuff outlining the we they came from, and affirming racism is wrong but this is the artwork view it if you wish.

The level of revisionism and deletion or ignoring of works from bygone times that hit a phobia is very worrying to me.
The history of our arts, much like history of our societies is being manipulated and directed to reflect current tastes rather than reflect the realities of the times.

Silly argument. I'm sure people would love it if the radio played the full uncensored version of Stan or My Name Is.

    It has.
Loads of songs have their radio play versions with offending language removed or changed.

    Move along now please.

    Well I don't agree that it's silly.
There is a significant difference between bleeping out offensive language at pre-watershed times and re-writing the lyrics of a song to change its original content.

Censorship happens, that's true and it has for years. Doesn't make it right.
By censoring a song that has been played (both censored and uncensored) for years precisely because of faux outrage gives the impression that because tastes or sensibilities change that it is ok to revise the original work.

*I suddenly feel offended that at Christmas I am assailed by artwork depicting naked babies, it's practically pornographic!
I demand any images of a naked baby should be amended to protect my delicate sensibilities!

Furthermore all nude artwork should be "improved" by painted in bikinis!

It may totally detract from the artists intended impact and message, but shut my feelings trump Art*

*= May be hyperbolic, but it is a logical extension of this stance.

Again, a silly argument. If a song played before the watershed has the word 'fúck' in it, then the word is censored out.

And once again, the word ****** has been censored in Fairy Tale of New York for decades on public radio. This is not a new change.

Isn’t that Dire straits song “money for nothing” censored as well?

“See the little ****** with the earring and the make-up
Yeah buddy that's his own hair
That little ****** got his own jet airplane
    That little ****** he's millionaire”

I think this verse has been completely left out for years.

Jesus, what happened to the time when young folk and in particular djs were pushing all kinds of new boundaries....now the older folk have become what the younger folk used to be...the young are dictating how we all need to behave in a more inclusive diverse gender neutral way...is there some book where they are getting all this s##te from?

I propose we do away with all "controversial" Xmas songs the world over and just play "Simply having a wonderful Christmas time" over and over and over again.

Lyrics are pretty safe in that one. No slut or ****** anyways.
