The Eir sketch was only half funny tonight,I've heard it done before
    So no effort put in
His Leo and mehole isn't as funny when its missing comedy
    Tonights a good example
I mean it was like listening to a Sinn Féin justice spokesperson except with funny voices
Same vibe in the Leo v mcentee sketch
Just an opinion piece with an attempt at the voices
He needs to write better or that will get tired
His older Leo and Eoghan Murphy stuff used be much more original
He needs to do some homework watching spitting image,it would help with the writing

Also nothing on the RTÉ covid party
I mean, that was jumping out for material
Either not brave enough or too rushed to get in the political stuff
He could have replaced the eamon ryan sketch with it
I can't even remember the eamon Ryan sketch it was so bland
Edit, I do now,it was the Eir sketch

Callan has succumbed to Yarwood Syndrome. It’s not enough to simply be a good mimic, the content needs to be funny as well.

He also suffers a bit because of his double standards, in my opinion. He rightly went to town in his criticism of a media baron, while happily writing a weekly column in The Sun.

Double standards is the problem, he shills the Shinners in the Sun and expects to be taken seriously.

Too fond of smelling himself.....in my opinion.

Will be interesting to see how Callan handles the Stanley debacle tonight.

I would guess it will be an imaginary conversation between MLMD and Stanno telling him off.

You have to be ripping the piss out of everyone on this show
'We call to see you so we can let you know that We know where you live':D
The HSE city west sketch was good

If Callan keeps on shilling the Shinners it will be, on RTE anyway..

Public Service Broadcasters don’t usually allow those on the radio to say what they like on other platforms.

Keep your political opinions to yourself if you want to be on the radio would appear to be the name of the game.

    No problem Francie

However it would be nice if a lad being paid by the taxpayer distributed his ‘criticism’ evenly and fairly instead of focusing on one individual alone.

Astute observers see through this operator, and his naked agenda.

All we ask for is fairness, not couching all his ‘satire’ in a thinly disguised attack one one individual, and a very poor attempt to use a so called attack by an opposition personality on the same individual.

People are not stupid enough to be roped in by that propaganda.

I could think of a lot more deserving it Francie, but hey it’s St Patrick’s Day.

Best not go there.Plenty of time to unload at a later occasion.

He's a satirist's dream, as they say and looks like he will be for some time to come.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is dreadful rubbish? There is a long and honorable tradition of satirical radio (and TV) but surely they could do better than this. The Enda/Ringer stuff is a straight copy of Dermot Morgan's Haughey/PJ Mara skit - with none of the subtlety. The take-off's of Michael D (now mercifully over I think/hope) were just embarrassing and many of the sketches consist of little more than people shouting over each other.

There was a time when treasured Scrap Saturday episodes were sent around the world on cassette tapes. Callan's Kicks is an unfunny, sorry insult to its memory.

It’s ten times better than mario rosenstock
