Absolutely. A real warning to any future customers who may have a genuine problem with what was delivered. Complain and we'll send you a legal letter to ease your pain.

I'll leave it at that.

I can assure everybody here nothing will be getting deleted on my behalf, regardless of what legal threat is made against me. This retailer already threatened to send me a legal letter when I said I would be raising the issue publicly if he continued to ignore my correspondence. That was his response to me instead of trying to resolve the issue of sending me an incorrect product I didn't order.

Everything stated here is a factual account of my experience with ordering a product from this retailer, and his bullying behaviour is not going to intimidate me when my consumer rights are being breached.

Fair play to you - I will spread this post around to try to raise awareness of their unscrupulous actions.

That's a pretty empty threat. By a 'legal letter' he presumably means a threat to sue for defamation. So tell him you'll see him in court.

Given his past record and the report of the court case which has been posted here, perhaps Talk to Joe?

A factual account of proceedings in a court case are immune from defamation proceedings, it's covered by 'absolute privilege' so you can kick straight off with his past record and how he resorts to threats instead of dealing with the consumer complaint, just as he's doing with you now. All you'd be doing is to say that he's at it again so he would have no hope of getting a cent from you if he sued and similarly, Joe Duffy shouldn't be afraid to take him on.

Completely, he is just making these baseless threats in the hope that he can bully and intimdate people who will get afraid / don't know the law. Talk to Joe also doesn't sound like a bad option for this scenario!

These are dropshipping guys. They don't hold the stock.

It is probably from VidaXL in Netherlands https://www.vidaxl.ie/ who specialise in using dropshipping sites (usually a decent business model)

Contact them directly and link them to this thread and copy in the threats of legal action - maybe they'll look at their business relationship with this shower of chancers

Just had a look at that site. There’s not a chance I would order anything from them. The whole thing looks completely off. The @outlook.com email address, not a chance.

How did you spend €1099 on outdoor seating without even seeing it? Do you know anyone who has used them previously, was the site recommended to you? I don’t mean to kick you when you’re down but I couldn’t fathom buying from them.

I have applied for a chargeback with my bank (Ulster Bank) and passed over all the details. Will update as soon as I hear anything back.

I know somebody who had the same product I originally ordered (the 8 piece set) so I thought it was safe ordering a set I had already seen off an online retailer based in Ireland. I also checked reviews online regarding the site and didn't see anything negative - presumably the posts on here about legal threats and comments being deleted straight away might explain that one.

Will definitely be a lot more vigilant in what sites I use in the future, I have been ordering online for years and never had any negative experience before this.

The absence of a landline number and a specific address were red flags for me when I studied their website. I only managed to track down their location (a shed behind a private house) from the Eircode on their Facebook page.

When I'm looking at a website, I always click on the 'Contact Us' option. At which point, I expect to see a mailing address and a landline number and an e-mail address. If an empty form pops up and I'm expected to fill it in with no idea where it's going, I'm out.
