    Jesus he looks barely recognizable. The partisan hacks sit in glee blissfully ignoring the reality that if the dumps in 2016 went against "the other side" they're be singing his praises.

    After the Mueller rubbish this feels like another cop out just to satisfy those who want payback for 2016.

    Personally I think Assange is a dangerous loose cannon, facilitating as he and his organisation does the unveiling of information that in some cases would be much better not unveiled. Defence of the Realm, eyes-only, and all that sort of thing.

    Wonder what kind of information WikiLeaks is sitting on, as he has alluded to, particularly in relation to the DNC.

    He could threaten that if he is extradited it will trigger the release of certain documents that would embarrass the British Government and chances are that it would as I can't see him not having prepared for the inevitability of his arrest.

    Nonsense. Eduador bent over backwards to help the guy. It didn't help that he turned out to be such an a** and treated his hosts like Sh*t. Maybe if he was a nicer guy, he'd still be in the embassy. He got himself kicked out by not following a couple of basic house rules. Only himself to blame tbh.

    Using blackmail against the government which arrested him. That's going to work...against him....they will put him in the modern equivalent of the "hole" in prison. At least he doesn't have access to the internet in prision!

    He wouldn't need access to the Internet if something has already been put in place re: the release of documents should he be extradited.

    If you mean that the UK won't extradite him to the US for charges that could incur the death penalty, then that's something different. We'll know soon enough what he's charged with and whether extradition to the US can be ruled out.

    according to the post before yours they are extraditing him for an offence that carries a max sentence of 5 years so that is no bar to his extradition. Of course once they get him over there what they charge him with might suddenly change.

    Who was President when they released the Guantanamo Bay papers or what era was that US army helicopter killing those civilians and journalists from? Bush.

    Wikileaks have only been dumping since around 2007, Pres Obama was in office 2008-2016. You're still butthurt over the last election, you can pull one out tonight safe in the knowledge that Assange has been arrested.

    Be interesting to see all those who spend so much time moaning about Trump's attack on the supposed free press actually come out and condemn this.

    Chances are they won't and we will got the wretched spectacle of supposed progressives cheer on the likes of John Bolton for prosecuting a whistle blower. :rolleyes:
