Recommended and cost efficient whitening clinic in Dublin?

There seems to be a raging debate between in-office whitening (laser?) and take-home tray whitening.

    Apparently both together work well.

I'd like an in-office whitening, whilst getting impressions and moulds made up so I can home whiten also.

I live primarily a little further down the country and dental prices are unscrupulous so I'm looking at Dublin as I'm normally around for a couple days at least once a fortnight.

Saw a few outlets, one called "The Whitehouse" based out of Arnotts and BT has many reviews but there's cheaper options also.

Any particular recommendation for what I'm looking for (in office and impression trays) in terms of quality (does it differ?) and price?

Whitening seems very popular now and some dental clinics appear focused on it almost exclusively, good competition, lower prices, better setup.

I can only post on my own and my wife's experience.
Kor is the thing for the job.

Do you know if there is a Dentist working in the whitening shops? Try ringing them and asking what whitening products they use.

    Rephrase:

The cheapest place to get custom impressions and trays?

What's the cheapest price I'd be looking at for this?

Google is your friend, most Dental Clinics have a website with prices.

    I'd say maybe 200 minimum.

Groupon is showing me some appealing numbers - 50% off etc

That is not a dental clinic, it is a postal service, you get your kit in the post. It is part of the smiledirect aligner chain, again, google is your friend, check the legal cases.

Do you have the name of the dentist?

Have you checked that they are on the Dental Register?

I had it done with Smiles Dental last year. They have branches all over Dublin.
They had an offer for €250 which included a full checkup, moulds & 6 syringes of the bleach.
I found them fantastic and would recommend.

Dental artistry on north strand road, 50 euro for 1 hour in office whitening.

    http://dentalartistry.ie/

I can't find name of the dentist on the website but they have many reviews.
I also can't find the name of many other dentists on many websites.

    http://www.dentalcouncil.ie/files/Register%20of%20Dentists%20-%20May%202019%20-%2020190515.pdf

This is the dental registry I pulled up but it only lists names not clinics.

Lots of places it possible to get reasonably priced in-office "laser" treatment?

I assume that's the "zoom" protocol.

Hard to see how you could do better than €50, you have found the place for you I’d say.

This mob has registered professionals listed on the registry.

70 euro in office whitening via groupon, 100 via direct booking.

    180 for moulds.

Yeah places like the "white house" in arnotts etc, they're not listing registered dentists. Some spots have many reviews; unsure what to make of it.

Putting a mud filled tray in a jokers mouth to make an impression and receiving moulds in the post, how hard can it be?

    I get it.

My questioning of straight forward information you presenting, it's tiresome.

"Go to a registered dentist and do it the right way", and I'm like, "bu-bu-but.... fifty euro cheaper....".

    Let me explain my POV.
    I'm a dental blank slate.
I go into a dentist office for scale and polish, I see some gal and not the dentist anyways.

Going in for a whitening, probably be the same, right?
    It's just straight forward protocol.
Registered dentists probably don't wanna hear nor entertain the idea of some cats free loading on their profession with semi-legit clinics, making dollards with no professional qualifications or recognition by the Irish dental registry.

I just don't wanna have my pants pulled down over the price, is what I'm saying, cause my experience with dentists locally is that they're shamelessly overpriced.

Having read your thread in the accommodation forum, I’m loathe to get to bogged down in a back n forth with you.

The “gal” you saw is a Hygienist, qualified and legally licensed to clean your teeth. Only Dentists are qualified and licensed to whiten teeth using peroxides, the chemicals needed to whiten teeth effectively.

It is not a straightforward protocol, just using your case as an example, your front teeth are whiter than your back teeth because you have been using industrial bleach bought online, if all your teeth whiten at the same rate with your €50 offer, at the end of your treatment, your teeth are still different colours.

When you are looking at whitening treatment around those prices, its really doesn't matter, none of those treatments will be predictably effective.

I'm prepared to along with that.

What would be your top recommendation?

The go-to custom moulds and dental gel?

I doubt you are seeing an actual dentist for that 50 euro. There may be one somewhere in the building though. A decent mechanic charges more than that.

Went straight to the dental lab.

Dude will do the moulds in the lab for less than half the cost of a dentist.

    The gels;

Is it really necessary to buy these from a dentist?

Aren't there any reputable gels available online?

The gels are super important and you wont get good ones online yourself the are sold on prescription, the dodgy ebay ones are useless at best and dangerious at worst. The impressions are super important, lets hope the technician is licenced to do that and has a nice clean surgery to stick his hands in your gob. The regime is important also, the state of your teeth is important. The only thing more expensive that paying a professional is paying an amateur. When you do DIY you get DIY results.
