Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Can anyone recommend a walk behind rotovator for garden. Have 1/4 acre or so under veg this year and will probably double that next year. Looking for something that will be well capable of dealing with that kind of area and till to a decent depth.
    Was looking at a Husqvarna TF 325. Anybody got experience with them?

    Have a look at the back to Eden method.
    Ive a similar size and havelots of wood chips down. There are some good FB groups and a movie they made about it

    Back to eden doesn't really suit what I want to do. Hoping to run a few pigs on an area in autumn and was trying to make the job a bit easier in the Spring. Was thinking a single pass of a tiller with/without a ridge kit would be sufficient for alot of what I would be planting.

    We have the Husqvarna TR 430 which is a great piece of kit. So, can't comment on the particular model you're looking at but as a brand they are excellent.

    I haven't used either of the Husqvarna's above but I have used a lot of different rotovators and the two above are chalk and cheese. Both are likely very good but for regular work and long hours the TR 430 is vastly superior. On the other hand for regular short duration use in smaller areas then the T 370 is going to be more useful.

    T 430 best on larger areas as it needs a bit of room to turn, easy on the user to operate. Takes up a good bit of storage space.

    T 370 fine for smaller areas and capable of larger areas but known for knocking the sh!t out of the operator. Can probably rotovate much deeper than the T 370 if you work at it. The reverse seems a daft idea, never had it or needed it on similar machines.
