    Thanks,

It's always easier to ban someone when I know they forgive me. Enjoy your holiday.

    I know I laughed at this :D

Conservative Catholics questioning the pope on his 'radical' new approach. The following quote from the article made me nearly cough up a spleen at the sheer irony:
He is calling every single one of us to love our neighbor as ourselves, which is a really hard thing to do.

How weird is it that their main problem with the current successor to Jesus is that he's too nice to everyone?

ETA: I typed too soon: "the pope in recent weeks excommunicated a priest who spoke in favor of women’s ordination".

Also "Barringer, 56, said she worries that Francis’ words could be twisted by the media and others to hurt the religious freedom of conservatives like herself." The religious freedom to discriminate. Makes me want to spit.

I'm not so sure people would appreciate if I loved people the way I love myself.

    Ullapool Church Display Clarification

The Lochbrim & Firestone Kirk wishes to clarify that their inspirational display on the church wall is meant to say 'Arise'.

A church spokesman told us, "We heard there was confusion and even some raising of smirks regarding our display. Imagine our embarrassment when we took a look and realised the break above the letter R must be causing people to misread it as 'AKISE'. Hopefully once we finish the Godly instruction with the addition of 'Whole' to the right hand side, the matter will be resolved and the public will appreciate what we are saying to them."

    OK. Picture - plausible.

    First paragraph - plausible.

Second paragraph - someone is pulling the p*ss, alas.

    Cheesus

    Sweet divine cheesus

I would buy it, but it wouldn't be the first time I've bought a novelty cheese grater after seeing a picture on boards. Last year, I came home from the pub and after seeing a cheese grater shaped like an electric guitar in YLYL, I drunkely found and bought it on ebay. Didn't realise it until I found a shipping confirmation email 3 days later.

He doesn't look very happy about being depicted on a cheesegrater, does he?

It's tacky, but so is a lot of 'official' merchandise in places like Knock. Time was, every Irish home had an Our Lady of the Screw-Top Head holy water bottle. I've posted this before, but not in this new thread :pac:

Also the picture of the Pope over the marital bed (perhaps an early form of natural family planning??)

Amazingly, you can still get them... http://www.weddingsonline.ie/discussion/papal-marriage-certificate-t101873.html
