    Beautiful shots.

Love the river and the colours on Quay St are so vibrant.

What really strikes me is the lack of people around! It's like a ghost town! Was it late at night you took them, Vulcan?

No, between about 8-9 o'clock. The beauty of using a long exposure is that people tend to disappear or appear as a ghostly figure. there were quite a few in Quay street that night. Thanks for the comments as well.

Here are some pictures that I've amassed during the unseasonably Mediterranean like weather we've had of late, of what I consider to be one of Galway's most photogenic sites whenever we do enjoy these rare glimpses of sunshine. Where else but Galway could one take one last sip of a warm tin of beer before queuing for the pleasure of launching oneself into the icy embrace of the Atlantic Ocean in front of the critical gaze of mutually red skinned onlookers?

There's a curious lack of photography of this uniquely Galwegian ritual on google images so I thought I'd ask if anybody else enjoys the same sense of schadenfreude at the expense of these effervescent acrobats, and if so, has anyone else got any worthy shots that they'd care to share?

Here are some shots that I took, for more check out my blogpost at http://www.feargalnorton.com

I think that it's quite strange that my thread specifically about Blackrock diving board was added to a collection of photos of Galway. Nice as the shots are, I was asking for specific shots and opinions of the diving board, therefore I think it deserved its own thread in fairness.

But nonethess, I still ain't seen many shots of people jumping, so here's another one of mine that I like, and some of my own favourite shots of Galway since my thread has been moved here.

We have many photographers in Galway wanting to showcase their work and this thread is for that purpose.
If you want to showcase photos in a separate thread I'm sure the Photography forum will oblige.

That looks very much like Grealishtown. If so those houses are like that for years - since before the recession.

Last night was one of the most beautiful nights I have ever seen over the prom. I'm no photographer but I had the camera in the car so I took some pics and thought I'd share them for the benefit of those who missed out on seeing it last night.A reminder we live somewhere amazingly lovely.

The first three were taken within 15 mins on Grattan Road. The last one was taken over near leisureland.
