if we were to perhaps ask an AI device to answer the question for us i would say Reign in blood would be the winner. I don't think it's possible to have a more perfect album from any genre. It's absolutely flawless!

Reign or Seasons of the Abyss I'll take either. SOTA is a more mature record IMO, like Ride the Lighting to MOP was for Metallica.
If we are talking a pure thrash metal record, then Reign wins.

London Calling but i cant be first to mention that.

Dexys Too Rye Ay would qualify only for the endlessly irritating Come on Eileen.

Honourable mention for A trick of the tail, Genesis.

    Nothing original in my list.

    Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
    U2 - The Joshua Tree
    The Stone Roses
Whipping Boy - Heartworm (this is a masterpiece and Ferghal McKees lyrics should be on the leaving cert poetry curriculum)
    Oasis - Definitely Maybe
    Oasis - Morning Glory
    Guns'n'Roses - Appetite for Destruction

I'm going to cheeky and throw in a CD single of Some Might Say which contained "B sides" Talk Tonight, Acquiesce and Head Shrinker. Actually, there was an album of Oasis B Sides realeased at some stage. Arguably could be included.
