    West of Quebec, Canada does look and sound very like the US but there are cultural differences. For example, Canadians tend to express disagreement and anger less openly than Americans and we can be a little passive-aggressive in this regard. Thus, in a work situation, be careful you don’t underestimate the seriousness of a dispute because of the relative lack of decibels - a formal letter may be coming your way instead. Make sure everybody considers the matter closed before moving on.
