Thinking of going in August...Appreciate no one can predict the weather but is there always a might wind up there considering it’s proximity to the coast? Went there 2 years ago in October and thought ‘Smashing spot but that wind never seems to die down’....Again I understand people can’t predict weather but just want to know does the wind ever give Lahinch a break?!

It is a great spot for surfing after all so that should tell you all you need to know about the weather there :)

Lahinch is fairy open to the sea, other beaches like Kilkee are a lot more sheltered so don't seem to be as windy but it's hit and miss whether it'll be windy or not on any given day, that can go for August or December.

Fair enough - so there is some possibility it may not be windy :) Was there in October previous time - wind can be deadly cold!

Wouldn't say it's guaranteed too be windy, just depends on the weather it's not usually windy though if the weather is fine. Was lovely on the beach up until sunset around the end of July last year no jacket needed if that's anything to go by.
