Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Recording sets

    Hi all.
    I'm looking for a way to record sets from my 1210s so I can listen to them on my phone.

    Up until now I was using a cassette converter and uploading to the PC but the sound quality was not so good and it's bitten the bullet.

    I was thinking about the zoom h1n but I'm not sure if that will do the job.

    Maybe someone can prove me wrong or tell me a way I can record now that the technology has advanced.

    Why not record directly from your mixer to your PC/laptop? Audacity will work for that.

    Yep, audacity is included in the AVlinux.

    As Mordeith said, just feed from your mixer direct into PC and launch audacity to capture.

    I only suggested AVLinux as it gives you loads of options to work with the sound after.

    There is also an option to input from Vinyl in this free open source software,

    Does the package you mention have a splitter function. That would be handy rather than having to cut and paste to create individual tracks from the master mix.

    Its been quite a while since I recorded any Vinyl to PC, but as far as I recall it did if i am not mixing it up with something else.

    I am hoping that it will be like the minidisc where I could just record and listen

    If you're getting feedback it had to be something wrong with your setup. I think a Zoom would be an unnecessary purchase.
