Homemade Ecoshpere, Help identifying Animal

    Hi everyone,

    I created a homemade Ecoshpere with my Daughter. I went to a local stream and took some sediment, water and some pebbles with algae growing on them. We have created a few smaller ones which mostly harbor some tiny snails and algae. With the right amount of light this ecoshpere should be fully sustainable without being opened.

    The algae will grown with the sunlight and produce oxygen, the snails will eat some of the algae, The microorganisms in the sediments will eat the snails feces and in turn help feed the algae.

    We created a much bigger ecoshpere yesterday from the local stream and I think I may have some type of crustacean. It seems to run around the bottom and hide in between the leaves and rocks. It is only a few mms long and seems to have what like like antenna coming from its rear end, 3 in fact.

    There are a few pics attached. It may not be a crustacean and could be some type of water insect. This is all new to me. I am basing my theory purely on the way it moves through the bottom. It seems like it has perfectly evolved to live there.
