Checked earlier this morning and here's what I heard

    87.5 Klub FM
    87.8 True
    104.9 DHR
107.0 Caroline Cork relaying Radio Caroline UK programmes

I assume City View will be along later in the day on 97.6

No sign of True the other day in an area where I would usually pick it up.

How come Klub are active on FM, but are not online?

Note - do NOT click on their website address. It appears to be hijacked and full of nasties.

In contrast, DHR appear to be very successful online.

They recently tried broadcasting online during their live shows over Mixlr, which they also used in the past when they did broadcast online full-time for a while, but over the last couple months there live broadcasts have been few and far between and even the last couple of those have not been streamed online. I hhad a slot on the station for a while at which time the owner expressed no interest in streaming online.

Klub FM’s signal has not been as good as it used to be since they moved site.

Play FM are testing on 87.8 in Cork City with a plan to increase power.

Heard Play 87.8FM yesterday, they seem to be making a good go of things. Already naming on board DJs on FB as well as pics of a very pro-looking studio. RDS is PLAY 878.

They seem to have two pages going at once. This one seems to be the one they plan to use:

No DHR on today. Just Klub on 87.5 and Play on 87.8, along with the CSN student station Juice FM on 88.7, very poor signal up by Apple.

Klub sounding absolute top notch as usual on 87.5.

The Klub FM call in shows that were on over the summer before last were some of the weirdest radio I have ever heard, right up there with the Assassin freestyling about voting with Stevie G and him trying to convince Ezeke that he was actually from Carrigaline.

Indeed, hope they bring back regular live shows soon. Their playlist is OK but quite repetitive.

Quick tune around in Cork city this morning
    Klub on 87.5
    Play on 87.8
Caroline Cork 107.0 relaying Caroline Flashback service

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,224 ✭✭✭radioguru02

Play’s mission seems to be to take their compeditors out. True are gone, DHR (although they only broadcast one genre and not as much of a threat) are also off air. Also seen a number of familiar names (ex-Klub FM) joining the Play roster.

as far as i kno play had nothing to do with dhr leaving the airwaves.

Hi. DHR had to come off the FM for financial reasons.
Playfm or anybody else had nothing to do with the decision.
We are not in competition with anyone. We are on a different page altogether.
We will hopefully be back on FM very soon.
    Cheers
