    Hey,

Looking into booking our own ski trip to Livigno flying into Milan/Linate. Have been looking for transfers but don't seem to be easy to find. Found some private transfers which seem preetty expensive and depend on how many people we have:

Trying to figure out if there is a public trasnport option or private company operating the route at a reasonable rate. Have fonud a site with a public transport option but seems very complicated and no early morning transfer back to livigno for a 12 o clock flight.

Does anyone know of a bus that maybe goes directly from Milan/Linate to Livigno. Any comments or suggestion appreciated. Thanks...

    Zurich

We are doing this trip early Jan, came across the same problem, then discovered you can fly to Zurich - 2 1/2 hrs by train and then direct bus to Livigno, about 30mins. Not sure if you booked flights yet but we decided that this would be better than a 3-4hr bus transfer...

Hi Edmund f, you have given me plenty food for thought. Thanks. Havn't booked the flights yet. Flight to Zurich seems to be about €40 more expensive but flight times are more civilised then milan linate! Have managed to find some slightly cheaper private transfers which work out at around €100 per person return. I think between the extra cost of the flight to zurich and combination of train and bus it would be just as cheap to fly to Milan/Linate and get the private transfer. Will save us a lot of hassle with trying to find trains buses etc. Might be just easiest to be picked up at the airport and dropped to the town also will be faster as no hanging around waiting for public transport.

yea, we had pretty much the same choice - but we went for the swiss train option, sorta like an Irish train, but always on time. The thing that swung it for us it the access tunnel to Livigno - busses have priority - think we just went for the comfort and reliability of the train. Will be interesting to see how it works out, little boards.ie experiment in the best way to get to Livigno (if you go for the private transfer option)

Is that tunnel just from the Zurich side? Seeing some posts online saying it closes from 8pm to 8am in which case we are in trouble for out flight home if we have to go through it??

when the champs were in livigno 2 years ago, I know a few guys got a big taxi and managed to do the transfer in 3 1/2 hours!!! Makes the bus look pretty slow!
