There hasn't been a weather warning now for nearly two weeks. Very unusual. Has Met Eireann reconsidered the alarmist scare tactics it uses in light of the damage to it's reputation and standing after Storm Lorenzo?

So there is. I spoke too soon. Although I note some media outlets are calling it an "alert" rather than a warning.
And the merchants of doom are back out on the weather forum. Had a feeling it wouldn't last

NATIONAL WARNINGS
Status: Yellow
Rainfall warning for Munster, Connacht, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly and Westmeath

I remember a time when British farmers used to use met eireann forecasts, it was considered a professional outfit. Not so anymore.

Met Éireann blames media for 'over-sensationalising' Storm Lorenzo after receiving complaints

https://www.thejournal.ie/met-eirean...87235-Nov2019/

I see George Lee was sent to Donegal on the RTÉ news tonight to sensationalise the weather again too.

Met should look inhouse before blaming others for hype, the previous storms were OTT by their own and there are 2 that come to mind when hype is mentioned.

Ya know its all well and good taking the piss out of them for over-hyping the weather warnings, but when all is said and done, if someone was killed they'd be chastised for not issuing a higher warning. Too many people around with nothing to do but moan about little first world problems!!!

Im trying to understand this programme on RTE right now "will ireland surive 2050"...now according to them climate change is a great thing for ireland and ireland will be such a good place to live in 2050 that "climate refugees" from everywhere around the world will all be coming to live in ireland for the great weather

Another 'storm' on the way this weekend.
Will there be another Prime-Time special and a live show on the morning after to report on the devastation it caused.?

Warnings and storms are still coming thick and fast. But I think Lorenzo did make a difference. People less inclined to be scared by them. Although I may be mistaken.

News this evening
Batten down the hatches. There is a storm approaching. Orange warning.

But still bread is the suparket so people taking less notice of the scaremongering.
