    Why do all these games have to be so violent?
    Every major game released since Doom has been...BOOM...SPLAT...BLUDGEON...SPLATTER...KILL...DIIIEEE!!!
    Now I love these games just as much as the next psycho, but it's just getting too predictable, it's been the same old formula for years now.

    I must concur. Lets see more games like Ninja Rabbit on the C64 where a rabbit was horribly mutated in a nuclear incident. He gathered together his cuddly animal friends, standard cartoon species, turtles, hares, foxes etc. who were all also freaked to the max baby and they took it to the hole. Not the rabbit's hole mind, but the scoring zone for righteous mutant herbivores. With me so far?
    Anywhoo, they train as ninjas and civil engineers and with that knowledge they build underground infrastructure with which they launch a surprise attack on evil capitalist nuclear engineers. It involves lots of teamwork, cartoon ninja and of course, cartoon gore.

    Well I think it's about time game developers got serious about "normal" games.

    Almost all new releases involve some form of 'killing', from 'Age of Empires 2' to 'Carmageddon 3' it's all stab this, run over that...

    I'd like to see what suggestions you people have for some non-violent games:

    Hmm.

    Conflict is the basis of drama/excitement, though.

    If you want to see nonviolent modern games, the Japanese are very into them. Dating sims, to be precise - yes, dating sims. You play a guy/gal who has to run around basically making all the right decisions to make the right member of the opposite sex (or the same sex in some of the dodgier bishounen ai ones...) go out with you. They range from the ridiculously cute to the utter filth level of porn, but they are almost all nonviolent... Me personally, I also hold the opinion that they're almost all pretty sad! With the possible exception of Sakura Wars, where the whole dating/relationships thing played second fiddle to the great RPG happening in the foreground...

    Most new games involve the same old formula of killing and running and killing again.
