    Hi all,

As the title suggests, any have any idea on what the price is? I cant seem to find any info online?

Not sure if its worth pointing out but I do have a referral from my GP for St James to carry out the test. Otherwise, I have to pay €30 for my GP to do so but thats not till Tuesday.

    Cheers all.

You can have you blood samples taken by a phlebotomist at the hospital or at your GP surgery.
Either way your blood samples will go to St James for processing.

Getting them taken at the hospital is free as far as I know (may be open to correction). The charge of €30 from you GP pays for their time, tubes, needles and the cost of transport to the hospital.

    It's free at the hospital.

GPs get the blood bottles, needles and request forms for free. Most GPs also have a delivery service of blood samples to their local laboratory. This is paid for by the HSE. The €30 is the cost of the doctor/nurse time to take the sample and interpret the test result.
