Would appreciate guidance as to what the relationship is between the groom Peter Curran and the bride Maria Hughes in this 1857 marriage.
Is it 3rd and 3rd degree of consanguinity? What common ancestor would they have shared?

The bride's mother was an Ann Curran, so Peter was Maria's uncle?
Every second family in that parish is a Curran or a Hughes, so they are all tangled up. |

3 & 3 is second cousins, think of it as an up and down. 3 people up from person A is their great-grandparents, 3 people down from them is a second cousin.

So you could potentially have 3 & 4, second cousins once removed?
