UK Visa leaving from Dublin airport

    Hello.
A Russian friend has a 6 month UK visa. He came into Belfast, spent 30 days there (quarantined etc as required), and is now ready to return to Moscow. As flights back out of Belfast are very expensive now, can he travel out of Dublin airport? Is there any rule against him travelling by road from Belfast to Dublin and flying back out of Dublin? Thanks for reading.

He has no Ireland visa I presume ? So no he can't do that.

His UK visa allows 90 days in Ireland. What I'm worried about is that he will be entering Ireland by road and not getting a stamp on the way in. Then he attempts to leave Ireland with no evidence of having entered. Thanks for your reply.

Ireland (and the UK, US, CA and many others) does NOT stamp or even check passports on exit

The Russians love stamps and paperwork, hence the concern.

Check in at Dublin will want evidence of entitlement to enter Russia, valid Russian passport is all they need. They don't care how you got there.

The UK certainly know when you have left. The airline/ferry/train companies pass the passenger exit details to the Home Office. If someone on a visa leaves the UK through Ireland they'll need to notify the Home Office, or their exit won't be recorded and they'll be in some bother if they ever want to visit again.
